Costco is my happy place

This is my go to location. They’re small but have almost everything I need. I’m going to stop using their pharmacy though. They seem too busy . I can never get through to anyone and have to wait longer than they say for prescriptions to be ready.

I am satisfied except that the parking lot seems a bit narrow.

The Costco is the same as all other costcos but they try to control the parking traffic which makes it even worse…. We don’t go to this one anymore it’s a hassle

Probably the most useless Costco workers I’ve ever come across. My husband and I purchased a (very large) freezer from here for my mom and there was no help from anyone whatsoever throughout the entire process. No one helped us get it off the shelf, and no one would help us load it in our car. Even though we asked multiple people for assistance each one said, “there’s someone else who can do that.” Disappointing. Costcos in America are much better.

I discovered this store a bit by chance, but I like the principle, buy in bulk to pay less

I am mostly satisfied with the products and services at Costco.. had a few to many bad experiences pile up regarding their fresh produce lately. Strawberries gone bad but still on sale, Brussels sprouts that literally stink really bad, bad quality of avocados, sand textured peaches and some other low quality fruits and veggies. Costco is good for most things but will stay away from fruits and veggies from now on!

I love Costco. But, I feel like walking into prison (not that I have been in one). First, you need to scan membership card, then scan the card on the checkout, then wait in the line for staff to make sure you didn't steal anything. I do not understand for checking membership so many times, if I do not have a card, I cannot pay it is as simple as that.

Insanely busy as .always. traffic backed up to intersection of loughheed and production way.
Definitely not an ideal location for the amount of people in the area.

2024 Jul 16:
Bought a rotisserie chicken yesterday and noticed two (not one) flies on the chicken when unzipping the bag to prepare dinner. My wife closed the bag immediately and I went to try get a refund at 7:30pm but the refund lineup was super long. Took the chicken back home and went there again early morning today. Got to talk to a staff member Helen and requested her to write down my phone number for Jeff the store manager to call me back to acknowledge my report of this serious food hygiene issue: With the dark skin of the roasted chicken, it is so easy for anyone to eat the flies without ever knowing it! I never received a call from the store manager though. Hence this negative review. The next time I find this again, I will report it to the Burnaby Health Department as obviously the store isn’t concerned by not giving me a phone call to acknowledge my report. Note: Report date I wrote on the receipt is off by one day (my mistake).
Update 7/17/2024:
Someone from Costco called and left a message for me to call the Deli Department. I called back and maneuvered their automated phone system: after a series of presses, I was asked to wait for connecting to the general enquiries option. After a short wait, the automated cycle was back to square one. So frustrating I hung up. Costco Deli: If you see this comment, please call me until you reach me successfully - Don’t ask me to waste time calling your automated phone system! Please!
Update: 7/18/2024
The Deli department head called again to apologize as well as discussed on what could have gone wrong. Promised to set up a bug zapper which may hopefully reduce similar issues in the future. I consider this a prompt and positive response (changed to 4-stars from 1-star)
Update: 10/28/2024
Went to their Willingdon store two months ago to get the $20 gift card but was told it can only be obtained at the original (Brighton) store. Today I went there and was kept waiting for more than 20 minutes just to get the gift card. This is becoming a penalty for me time wise to report something bad and asking for improvement. Ultimately they summoned the bakery department head to confirm that they indeed have promised me a gift card. Case closed
2018:
Costco Tire Centre: takes only 8 vehicles daily for flat tire repairs. 12 persons in the early morning lineup at 9:30am - 4 have to leave after counting to 8 by a staff member. This is extremely poor service. I’ve decided never to purchase tires from Costco if they don’t change the system.
Note: I was subsequently told by the staff that it’s winter tires changing season, but still they should take appointments instead of having people line up early in the morning two hours before they open. Still they should improve customer service to an acceptable level.

Love this Costco. Best staff ever. They are always friendly, personable and have a smile on their faces. Well done every time.
