Someone needs to look into replacing management here. Over the last couple months, I've run into several issues. Their meat is not fresh. They often sell meat that was packaged 5+ days ago. I've had to toss out chicken twice because it smelled off. They have multiple expired products on their shelves. I found an entire shelf of Shake & Bake that had expired in 2021! When purchasing peanut butter, I noticed various best before dates. Some had best before dates that had already passed. Check your receipts before you leave the store! They often do not remove the sale tags on their shelves and you will be charged full price even though the shelves say otherwise.

Stuff is generally overpriced, but their hot food is good. However, after a situation here I will not be coming again.A homeless man came here and started verbally harassing my girlfriend and I out of nowhere, saying he's going to get us arrested for no reason. He seemed high at the time, so I'm not sure if he was hallucinating something. He also used racial slurs, so perhaps it was a targeted attack because of our race. He then walked away to talk with a staff member. To my surprise, instead of kicking him out a staff member let him borrow his phone to file a complaint against us?After that interaction, I no longer feel safe at that location as the staff seemed to be siding with this homeless man by letting him borrow their phone rather than ask us if everything was okay.

Sure the prices are bad but the pharmacy is quite useful up on campus.

Emma is such a lovely, wonderful and friendly person! I loved talking to her. She knew exactly what kind of help I needed and she was very clear, understanding and helpful. I was shocked by the quality of service I received as Canada post and supermarkets in particular usually has a bad reputation. Emma is what Canada Post/Nesters Market or any supermarket needs to improve their customer experience and the standard of their quality. Her personality and attitude were very welcoming and she seems like a great person! :)

Problems with expired food. I used to work as a line cook for a few years, I'm a hobbyist chef, and I like to buy and cook almost everything that I eat. I shop at Nesters because it's a 2 minute walk from my apartment (luckily). Ive lived in the area for 1 year, and I would say that I've purchased somewhere around 8 or 9 expired food items. Mostly produce, but also Ive purchase expired bread, and expired yogurt. I sympathize for management because they have a high turnover rate so it's difficult for them to find and train new staff, but they need to get on top of the expiry issue. A lot of the produce isn't good, watch out

Worst managed grocery store I’ve ever been to in my life. Pallets stacked where there should be lines so nobody knows where to line up. Nobody working at post office ever. Butcher is never working or always in the back. No one bags groceries so next person in line has to wait 5 min. All employees try and avoid contact because it’s so obvious they have no idea what’s going on. Literally a joke.

Very friendly staff. This place is extremely expensive compared to other markets! However they are always busy because it is the only shopping option close to SFU. I recommend it only as your last resort

Have tried this location several times. The trash bins are full. Staff touch stuff with garbage or cash register hands and then make your food. The customer service is always underwhelming too. They will deny you service for a list of reasons including; If they "believe they are too busy" with making food,Refuse microwaving/ heating up food and telling customers to use the microwave in the customer area insead,Refusing to sell soup cups to customers because they only want the cups to be used for soup in the deli but not allowed if it's from the store,Refuse customer service, if customers don't have anything from the deli or bakery. And customers are even refused service even if they only have 1 to 3 items. Not putting nutritional fact labels on food products with refusal or dont know how.Refusing customers and poor cleanliness are not a good look. Reminds me of my old job with poor management.Store owner should replace the management and longest tenured workers there. Otherwise how will new employees ever know to act differently. I've worked in multiple food service settings and those two things always lead to things like the issues above. New people just get trained poorly if these kind of managers or longest tenured workers who act like this are training them. Reviews like mine go back years too, check for yourself.Hire new managers.Nothing's going to change unless you come back here in 10 or 20 years maybe.

Previous owner wanted to grow a community… current owner wants to gauge money out of it. $6+ for a baguette ($1 at Walmart) — that’s thievery.

Sold a food that gone bad with mold on it and did not even want to compensate for the wasted time and inconvenience. I had to go all the way back from campus to the store and just got a refund with no compensation

Only go here if you are absolutely desperate. It's the only grocery store on the mountain so a lot of times the only option close by. Today was the third time I found their produce to be mouldy within a day or two of buying. There have been multiples times I have been in the store and the produce on the shelf itself was mouldy. Today was the second time produce I got from here was covered in mould within a day or two of buying. The entire lettuce heads were completely mouldy from the inside. Last time it was my corn. Covered in white mould the very next day I took it out to make food. Its obvious they buy things close to expiry to get a cheap rate and sell them for marked up prices. By far one of the most expensive grocery stores in the area.
