Absolutely fantastic customer service, professionalism and solutions from all staff at this location who assisted me with an autoship order that an Uber driver faked a pickup and delivery for. The staff allowed me to come in to pick up the order myself using a friend’s vehicle. I know the extra steps they had to take at the back-end to even/close everything out at the end of my weird Uber saga wasn’t ideal. But they went above and beyond for me anyways and did so with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. It is such a rare thing for people seemingly these days to take steps like this for strangers, so this positivity stands out so much for me! I wanted to share this.
With that being said, I hope PerSmart corporate can notify their business partner Uber about the fraudulent driver who may just be an independent contractor, but some accountability is in order. I have documents (brought receipts in other words!) and photos of the driver and vehicle in question along with all of the Uber updates sent by PetSmart via screenshots. I’ve tried passing this to Uber directly but they advised they cannot help with me without going through PetSmart.
Anyways, 5 stars all around for the staff here who handled everything perfectly. You all deserve a raise and hoping you all receive much love and praise and good opportunities in 2026.

Booked a nail trim appointment for my puppy. When we booked they did not ask about his vaccinations and tell us they needed that information...they booked the appointment and when we arrived for the appointment, they then asked about providing vaccination paperwork, specifically rabies. We had some medical issues with our puppy and had to delay his vaccinations and when we explained that, they said they could not trim his nails. We wasted out time and gas to drive there just to be denied service. They should not have been able to book the appointment the day before! Not impressed!

We bring our lovely but very anxious dog to Petsmart Burnaby Market Crossing location for grooming - they always do an incredible job, and most recently, Ana did such an amazing job on our dog when he was being really nervous on Christmas Eve when it was so busy - we were so thankful for an outstanding customer and dog friendly experience on a busy holiday. Recommend Ana and her team, so lovely!

I would not take my precious pet to this place for grooming. Staff don’t come on time for appointments, sometimes don’t even show up at all. Rather than doing a proper grooming, they take the easy route and just shave the dog. That’s it I have had enough of this place.

I would like to commend Tawna, manager of Petsmart Market Crossing Burnaby for turning an unfortunate and stressful encounter in the grooming salon a few weeks ago into a pleasant and heartwarming experience for my family and Golden Retriever. Her professional and caring demeanor made such a difference in our day. I almost walked out never wanting to return as a regular customer but she assured us my dog will be cared for in good hands. Special thanks to Ghazal for stepping up to provide a wonderful grooming service. Thank you for your kindness and for treating my baby to her birthday spa day!

This was our first (and definitely last) visit to PetSmart grooming. Our normally, very calm Chow Chow was traumatized after this experience.
From the moment we arrived, the groomer (Ana) looked visibly annoyed by our dog — simply because she barked briefly in a new environment. My husband even offered her the option to decline the service if she wasn’t comfortable, but she insisted she could handle it and took our dog to the back.
When I arrived to pick her up, the groomer immediately began loudly lecturing me in front of other customers, saying we should never bring our dog back to PetSmart and complaining about how difficult she was. She listed the services she performed — which were already included in the package we paid for — as if she was doing us a personal favour. She even commented publicly about our dog’s anal glands, which was extremely embarrassing and unnecessary.
Our dog came out visibly shaken, stressed, and so scared she apparently urinated on the grooming table — a reaction that made us genuinely concerned about how she was treated during the appointment. We have never had a groomer complain about her before, so it was clear this groomer’s negative and impatient attitude contributed to her distress.
We fully understand that not all groomers are comfortable with certain breeds, and that is completely fine — but we expect that to be communicated upfront, not after our dog has been handled poorly and traumatized.
This was the most unprofessional grooming experience we have ever had. We are extremely disappointed and concerned for our dog’s wellbeing. I strongly urge other pet owners to reconsider bringing their pets in for grooming.

i literally just came in here to buy a bird and at first they refused to sell me a bird which is because i probably looked like a uneducated teenager. the worker looked so mad after i was able to buy it after a nice customer helped me get it. They almost refused to sell me bird even though what they are doing is completely wrong. they are acting as if i didn’t know anything about birds and seemed mad when they found out i knew and was educated about birds, you guys shouldn’t use a stick net to catch them that causes more ptsd and trauma, no other petsmart uses that to catch their birds, other stores use their hands, the brown lady who works there and caught the bird should be put in a different department due to not knowing how to properly catch it. And you guys shouldn’t have 3 birds per cage due to only two birds being able to pair and the other third being left out. This is a horrible location and i definitely probably won’t be coming back to buy any more animals, due to the lack of knowledge the one brown lady had while grabbing the bird i wanted, and usually other petsmart stores leave some seeds or millet in the box to help calm them down during the ride home but the box was completely empty. Y’all assume customers are uneducated and don’t know how to properly care for when you workers have absolutely zero clue. I seen another review about them refusing to sell other animals to other customers, petsmart would rather keep them locked up in small cages instead of letting them be with educated customers who have the knowledge on how to raise and train an animal. i have 5+ years experience and it’s sad to see them like that and being handled like that when collecting the animal from its cage. the worker should of took a break in between the long 5min catch it took, instead of constantly fighting the bird and stressing and scaring it. i think some of these workers are uneducated and need better animal training. other locations are
better! and an fyi if u ask customers about food for the birds please don’t just ask if they have seeds. they should also be eating fruits as well not just seeds so next time you ask a customer that’s buying a bird make sure to mention that as well because they can’t just live off seeds and millet. fruit is a great source of nutrients, vitamins etc. very uneducated workers!
i’m so thankful for the other customer who helped me talk with the workers to purchase the bird! :)

had the pleasure of dealing with this location to return a fish filter, I was helped by Matthew and Anna, as well as Tawna the manager, and Stella and Den the cashier, all very helpful and knowledgeable and provided me and my son customer service second to none, so refreshing in today's world, where customer service seems to be forgotten. They earned customers for life !!

Loads of variety and discounts BUTT But… very cleverly, if the offer is buy one and the 2nd is free, there’d be only one pack on the rack. If the discount is buy one and some % discount on the 2nd one, again there will be only one pack on the rack. They don’t do the raincheck option, that makes us lose discounts and points. I’m really disappointed with this tactic.
Also, their grooming is very average and not detailed. I’m not a pro groomer but I have done better grooming for my dog at home than their supposedly groomers did for my dog.
Anyone can check their clever selling tactics that I have mentioned above.

We’ve been taking our dog to the grooming salon for a few months now, and I’m so happy with the care Ana provides. Our dog was very scared of people and grooming procedures at the beginning, but now we can see how much she has improved her social skills. It’s clear how comfortable she feels with Ana and how much she trusts her. I highly recommend her services!
