Products are super expensive, almost While Foods type pricing. Hot dinner foods were sold out by 6:30pm. Really? A bag of green seedless grapes was over $12. In total, I bought 5 items and total was well over $100...for 5 items!!!!

That day we went because my wife wanted to, not during the opening event. Setting aside whether the prices were competitive, we used the self-checkout and only then realized the need for a membership card for the 'card price.' I wasn't aware that this brand shares the same membership card with SafeOnFood. I asked an older, slim Asian female staff with glasses how to join the membership. Throughout, I communicated with her in English. Due to our travel and the fear of unclear communication,(I'm from Taiwan btw) I politely asked her in English, 'Do you speak Mandarin?' Unexpectedly, she abruptly changed her expression, answered 'No!' and impatiently responded to my questions. It seemed like she thought I couldn't understand English, and then she slowed down her speech, treating me like a primary school student. I must say the bad breath from her mouth was as unpleasant as her attitude! I felt humiliated, even discriminated against! I really wanted to tell her that if she continues treating customers or this job this way, she'll remain in this position, or worse, lose her job. After this incident, we decided we won't be going to this store anymore. Hope this isn't offensive, but there are plenty of excellent and 'competitive' places nearby, you know, in various aspects.

I was hoping to like this grocery store, but after two short visits I doubt I will be going back. Their fresh dim sum is over priced. Their spicy Szechuan wontons have no flavour other than the overbearing taste of peppercorns. Service also needs work. I went to the self service machines to check out and asked about buying a brown paper bag. I was reminded more than twice that I had to pay 25 cents for it. It’s not like I’ve never paid for a bag before, but it felt insulting to be reminded like that. Once is enough. I understand the concept of paying for a bag and I even know how to do it on the self serve machines. It felt like they were afraid to lose 25 cents to theft. I remarked to the employee that I was going to pay for the bag, I had more than enough to pay for all of her bags and to please stop being so annoying. They seem willing to lose a customer for 25 cents.

People who give low ratings to this place are too picky. This supermarket does nothing wrong and has cheap hot table and spacious, beautiful sitting space, and they have Chinese and Asian food, snacks when you need.

Excellent customer service: I was there waiting for the public washroom near the entrance but couldn’t access it for around 15 minutes; the bistro staff guided me to use another set of washrooms; thank you!!!Prices looked decent to me. I always wanted to support Prices Smart since they have carried a variety of food and provided excellent service in my neighbourhood. I am excited to see this spacious spot opening

Clean and well organized store. Staff are efficient and friendly. I love that I can get my Asian and western foods at the same time. The store has plenty of selection and is priced comparably to t&t for the Asian goods. I am not sure if it's because it just opened, but there are plenty of unadvertised specials throughout the store, and of course the mailer coupons to take advantage of. I hope they continue putting out good sales to compete! I have tried the sushi and ready to eat foods which tasted decent but a bit expensive. The boxed combo meals were generous in portion for the price. The bakery section leaves something to be desired for Asian pastry selection. Good quality produce and decent selection of live seafood. Their price match process was a breeze at checkout. The pharmacy has a great prescription fee price of less than $5 and so far, isn't very busy. Tried the BBT at harmony cafe during opening week and they tasted authentic but the lids had some sealing issues which i hoped they fixed. This is definitely going to be one of my go to stores.

I went to check out the new Pricesmart Foods in North Burnaby during their opening week and managed to score some BOGO free bubble tea from the Harmony Cafe that's located there. One of the flavors I wanted wasn't available so I got a Lychee Lime slush in its place and Honeydew Smoothie for the second drink. Didn't think too much of the Lychee Lime slush, but the Honeydew smoothie was wonderful. The supermarket itself looks quite impressive upon first glance. They have many different stations offering different foods such as Dim Sum, Ramen, Teppanyaki, Sushi and Poke. I have to say though that while they have a lot of food to offer, it's heavy on the meat and not at all Vegetarian friendly. In that respect, I found the selection of foods quite disappointing. I'm Pescatarian myself, so I could get by with Sushi and Poke. However, I actually prefer to eat Vegetarian or even Vegan most of the time. Seafood is a last resort for me when I can't find Vegetarian or Vegan options that suit me.I did find the bakery section quite attractive though. They had a lovely selection of mousse cakes for sale, in a variety of different flavors. Earl Grey Mousse cake and Blueberry Cheese Mousse cake were two of the flavors that caught my eye. There were some mini Portuguese Egg Tarts on sale so I bought some and brought them home to try. They were pretty good. Nothing to rave about, but for a supermarket...pretty good.Overall, not too impressed with this place. If I happen to be in the area, I might consider stopping by once in awhile for a bubble tea or to check out the bakery section. Can't see myself doing everyday groceries here though.Service: GoodParking: Plentiful and freeLocation: 9899 Austin Rd., Burnaby

Clean and well organized. The speed at which we were served and then the teas were made was extremely slow at the Harmony Cafe. The gentleman helping us did not say a single word through out interaction and the line agree immensely as he and his partner slowly moved around the prep area. The grocery store seas great.

My experience at the hot food area left me with a bad attitude towards store. There was a fat Taiwanese lady with glasses that was very rude when I was ordering. She lied about the container when I said I wanted 3 items but she gave me a 2 item container and said it’s the same. When I said I didn’t want some of the items she was putting in the container she told me to throw it away then after I pay. Her attitude towards scooping the food is like she made the motion so there is enough even tho she put very little.
