Had pizzas at reduced price so I figured they were just old or improperly made. The boxes are taped shut so no way of seeing what you're buying. I figured for $3.49 I would be fine with whatever was wrong with it. Boy was I wrong. This pizza is so overcooked it's practically inedible. The pepperoni is like chewing on gristle and the crust turns to dust in your mouth. It's not suitable to give away for free let alone charge money for it. No signs or writing and no warning from the staff about the state of the pizza. If you see food here with a reduced price STEER CLEAR.

I went to the Duncan bay store a few days ago and the note on the door said be back in 5 to 10mins, yet there was someone in the kitchen. Only wanted to go there cause it's close to where I live. I won't be making that mistake again.

My husband just ordered fried chicken and mojos and brought it home. It tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Dried out and undesirable. Too bad, as it used to be our favourite place to get fried chicken in town.

Wow the cashier definitely woke up on the wrong side, so abrupt and rude in how she spoke to me and it was my first time stopping by......won't be going back unless I have to! She needs to learn about first impressions and what customer service is

I travel north to south island and back frequently. Duncan Bay General Store has the best fried chicken on Vancouver Island, hands down. It's better than Chicken 649 or Thunderbird in Victoria. There are some poor reviews here, but all of my experiences have been excellent. Maybe I just have the timing right for arriving when the chicken and mojos are fresh?
