Castlegar No Frills aka banana store aka ghetto foods, has the best produce in town and have great seasonal specials. Always lots to choose from. Tons of parking near 3ntranc3 and great wheelchair access

Prices are unrealistically expensive compared with other stores, and some cashiers are rude when dealing with customers and chatting with each other.

If there was an option for 0 stars, I would have chosen that. The experience at No Frills was extremely disappointing and disrespectful. We were not allowed to take our cart to the self-checkout even though we only had 4 items to scan. Meanwhile, a lady and her husband were allowed to use the self-checkout with a cart full of items. When my friend questioned the team member about this discrepancy, they rudely replied that they had given permission to the other customers and denied us the same courtesy. This treatment felt like a huge disrespect, and it's clear that the team needs proper training on how to communicate with customers. We did not argue and left the store, but we will not be returning.

Specifically a horrible looking manager has no sense of public dealing. At the end of closing she has no sense of dealing with the customer when they don’t have regular carry bags and always constraint us to buy 2$ plastic bags. That manager should be genuinely fired from store.

Cashiers aren’t same with everybody, treat people according to their Nationality. Not expected, really bad experience always. Just had to go for groceries.

My beef is with corporate. (The staff at this location are great). I'm upset to see no frills pricing increases over the last few years. It used to be the best bargains but now it's actually the most expensive grocery store in town. It's silly. Once I saw a small packet of dried apricots for $12. Then the next week they were $7. Used to be $2... The meat is B grade greasy quality and the veggies are limp. Mayonnaise is $9. It's like their pricing AI went haywire. I did the May boycott and was pleasantly surprised by the prices at Safeway. Saved a few hundred dollars already.
