Funds "on hold" still on hold on the date we were told funds could be withdrawn. We should receive interest on the sum being held. Ridiculous situation! Customer service person STILL behind a big plexiglass screen in April 2023, put in place for Covid so you're unable to hear what he is saying. Giving one star is being generous.

Absolutely terrible service. They sound promising on the phone, get you in for an appointment in approximately a week, but when you do go in the teller does not know how to do his job nor how to use the computer, stalls with questions asked and needs to refer to manager for answers: let’s just say I’ve waited since December 2022 to get my RESP cheque for my daughter, it’s now February 20th 2023, still No cheque as of this post. I will never use CIBC bank, and I will certainly never refer anyone to this bank avoid Akshay Perumanagari and find a bank where communication and customer service is at least their bare minimum. Specifically Courtenay Mall branch only!

After opening a chequing account online, I was required to physically come into this branch on 4 separate occasions (and wait in line) to open a simple bank account. ID and account details were lost or missed multiple times. Then the account was locked without notification. Finally, drove to another CIBC branch (5th visit to a branch) to solve the "locked account". In total, 6+ hours spent opening a bank account.

I was told they have no tellers and to put my credit card in the atm and pay it that way. I put $1000 on the card and now it's missing. They won't answer the phone or call back. Thieves.

Terrible experience, tellers are not fully trained, couldn't even get my wire transfer done. Manager ignored teller 2 times before finally coming to help her get my transaction done. Cibc keeps deleting my review and I will continue to write it everyday
