Amazing, friendly staff. I traveled from Vancouver Island due to a reason to install a class 3 trailer hitch. They quoted me with honest price ($500 less than Rack Atack) on top of that I purchased Thule Arcos cargo carrier from another place which they were happy to keep in their shop and even installed it for me when they were done with the hitch. They could have just not do it because it’s not their responsibility as I didn’t buy the product from them, but they went above and beyond to make my trip from the island so much worth it. I just can’t express how much I appreciate all the staff for their kindness. Thank you so much

Ordered a UWS Tank and Tool box combo from Cap-it and took it in for install on Sept 7, 2024. 2024 Ram 3500 w/factory Aux switches in the dash and provided the factory upfitter kit. When I picked it up, I was told they hadn't wired it to Aux 1 and had instead wired it with an aftermarket relay, fuse and installed another switch on the lower left of my dash?? (no calls or anything about this prior to pickup). Additionally, the tank had a low quality nozzle (which they acknowledged and said a replacement should be in by Tuesday). The attached picture is what they considered a professional install (bent over hoses limiting flow, promoting cracking, etc).
I purchased and installed on my own a swivel to eliminate the hose issue.
Returned the following Saturday (Sept 14) to have the handle replaced and the tank rewired to Aux 1. The install staff seemed confused by the rewire, which led me to believe they had not been told about it.
A bit later I was called to say my truck was done, but they hadn't rewired the tank as according to the guy I talked to, the 2024's had changed a lot and I needed to take it to the dealer to get some work done before they could do such a wiring.
I was very confused as I had both looked at the upfitter wiring instructions and watched the videos and from what I could see, nothing had changed since 2019. I went down to pick up my truck, looked under the hood and confirmed the the wiring harness and Aux bypass was all still the same and nothing had in fact changed.
By this time I was very angry. I spoke with the Manager Doug and I'll admit I was pretty rude and belligerent. Doug told me that his one installer told him that it was too risky and dangerous to try and wire to Aux 1 whereas his other installer told him it was easy and they should go for it. So obviously the guy that told me things had changed has just made that up to try and not do what I paid them $375 to do or some other reason?
Doug and I went outside and I showed him under the hood how easy it was and also explained about having to install the swivel myself despite paying for a 'professional install'. Again, I was pretty angry and belligerent. He told me I had paid for the tank install and wiring (which was done wrong ...., so what did I really pay for?). I again brought up the aftermarket switch and Doug told me I had agreed to it. This triggered me again as no one had said anything about the switch until I showed up to pick up my truck on the 7th and I most certainly had not agreed to anything. They installed the aftermarket without my knowledge or approval.
I left after he said he'd look into it.
I cooled off a bit and sent an apology email for my behavior, but also detailed the issues with the install and what went wrong. At the same time, Doug had emailed me saying he acknowledged the handle was wrong and there would be some type of compensation for that. He did not acknowledge any other issue.
Since then I haven't heard a word from Cap-It or Doug. I emailed him a few days ago to let him know that I removed all the wiring under they hood they installed including the relay and extra fuse and wired it to Aux 1 myself in under 30 minutes. He did not reply in any way.
Long and short: I gave up 2 Saturdays and $375 for a 'professional install' that apart from Cap-It throwing the combo tank in the bed and putting in a few screws, had to do the install myself while having the staff bold face lie to me.
Do yourself a favour: Save your time and money and go somewhere that actually values their clients' time and money and values their own integrity.

If you’re buying accessories at the dealership think again. Dealing with Evan Bruce and the Cap-it Coquitlam team has been the most pleasant, easy, and positive experience I’ve ever had with any factory or aftermarket vehicle shop. I’ve been there twice now. Once for a hitch and the other for a tonneau cover. Both times the communication and punctuality of service was great. I dropped my truck off an hour early for its tonneau appointment and they started working on it immediately getting it finished just after the start time of my original appointment. Amazing!
Also when you call them a human answers immediately and is able to help your query right away. Stark contrast to the dealership experience of being put on hold and transferred around just to be told you’ll get a call back that never comes.
10/10 Cap-It!

Asked to wire third break light….here’s craftsmanship for premium price. Oh the canopy lock installed was crooked, had to redo myself. Pathetic. If you don’t want to do the job just don’t quote me at all.
UPDATE: The owner reached out to me to make up and earn the business. This speaks a volume. Would recommend this business.

Today I got a pair of offroad lights installed to my truck and my roof top tent taken off to be stored for the winter. The guys at the store got my lights hooked up in a timely fashion and helped out with loading my tent into the back of my truck. Great customer service! I will definitely be back for future services for my truck needs ?

Superior products that they stand behind. Amazing service here, came in to buy a couple replacement trim pieces for my Tacoma's F-type Tonneau. They offered the parts for free and another minor repair under warranty.
