I had appointment with one of the advisors to apply for credit card. Scotiabank in general is subpar in terms of client service but RBC reps are also trained to be impolite (TD is my fave). I arrived in this branch 10 min prior to the appointment time and had to stood at the help desk for 20 min. Needless to say no one offered me anything. I couldn't continue to wait so I walked towards the hallway where advisor rooms were. I found my advisor's name on the door so I said 'Tao, I have appointment with you'. That was 15 min past the appointment time. He was alone and looking at his screen. He said 'just one moment'. Then he walked out of his room and strolled to the refreshment area. He got his drink and asked me to come to his office. I've never encountered this unprofessionalism with any financial reps for 20+ years. Customers are greeted by an advisor in the waiting area (mostly on time). This advisor didn't seem to care about his future clients.

Overall, bank operations were fairly smooth. The constant changing of staff is a bit of a problem as familiarity of operations for the staff gets in the way at times. Clearing time of customers are needed to be improved on. On pay day, you'll be looking at a 30 min wait minimum. A bit of extra sitting can help too as you'll note the wasted space.

I recently had a disappointing encounter at this branch. Despite the staff being available, they were surprisingly rude and unhelpful. Unlike other branches, this particular one insisted on scheduling an appointment for assistance, even though I've never faced such a situation at any other Scotia Bank branch where walk-ins are typically accepted.The staff's refusal to provide immediate assistance, coupled with their lack of courtesy, left me with a negative impression. It's disheartening to experience such service from a bank that I have otherwise held in high regard.I hope this feedback helps in addressing the customer service concerns at this branch and ensures a more positive experience for future patrons.

I usually wouldn’t write a review about an experience at a branch but I needed to say something about my experience recently with a staff member at this location. Ava Safarkhani is the assistant manager of this branch, I recently visited this branch with my elderly grandfather and she was very condescending and rude to my grandfather. I’m very surprised that she is the assistant branch manager. I would not recommend visiting this branch and if you do please avoid Ava Safarkhani at all costs!!!

Please ensure your business hours are accurate. It can wrec havoc on your clients life otherwise. As of Aug 28th 2023 they close at 5 pm not 7pm on Fridays.

Waited 25min in line to talk to a teller (at least the teller was helpful and nice). Was told by a teller from the New West location that my main branch (Coquitlam center) should be able to deposit a bank draft and give access to the full amount instantly. This was not the case as the 5 business day hold would still apply. Even called the 24 hour line to ask and they weren’t able to answer my question. Wasted time and gas driving around everywhere for no reason. Such a useless bank. Regret my decision going with scotia.

This branch is one of the worst bank branch i have ever seen i do my banking 90 percent online but once a blue moon i go there to do something which cant do online they have never been cooperative and just made obstacle . I paid 10 dollar and took draft from my other bank to deposit in scotia chequing and they still wants to hold it for 5 business day that isrediciulos

I made appointment and wait for the phone calls but no one called me. I sent secured messages a few times but got no response at all. Will consider cancelling the account and go to other bank.

Tao is amazing. He spent an hour and 15 minutes with me and taught me a lot of knowledge about financial management/investing.
