I received the truck with 94306 of mileage and about 13% of fuel tank but the contract states that it was about 30%. I took a picture of it as proof.

DO NOT RESERVE A ONE WAY TRUCK FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!It turns out, that most U-Haul locations, including this one, have plenty of vehicles for LOCAL trips only and nothing for a ONE WAY trip. I reserved my (one way) truck 4 weeks in advance to move from Coquitlam to Alberta. The confirmation email stated the following: "at times, the size, location or time you have requested may not be available. In that situation U-Haul is committed to finding a solution"THANK GOD I called them a day ahead to confirm the rental situation. They informed me they had ZERO trucks, of ANY size anywhere on the Lower Mainland for a one way trip and that I would have to travel to Vancouver Island, the Interior or AMERICA to pick up a truck!!!!!!!The lady on the phone was extraordinarily rude, she told me there would have been a disclaimer when I booked!! Yes - had that disclaimer said "our solution to finding your equipment may include you driving to another country to pick up your vehicle" I would have looked elsewhere. The customer service rep was awful - she only softened when I literally started crying on the phone to her. I had someone flying in to help me with the move, my whole house was packed, I had other people moving in - they should absolutely be ashamed of themselves for the way they conduct business. I drive by this Coquitlam U-haul location every day and they always had hundreds of vehicles there, all sizes, shapes, models etc - so I didn't think it would be a problem getting my truck from them.... They almost ruined my move entirely. Luckily I was able to pivot because I had a days warning, if I hadn't called, I would have been blissfully ignorant thinking all was well until they would have called me at 5PM the day before my move informing me that the closest truck they could offer me was a 6 HOUR drive away. Yes - a 6 HOUR drive - THAT was the "solution" they offered me. Honestly, I would never use U-haul again because of this. Reading through other reviews it seems clear this is a persistent issue for users, so please use my experience as a lesson learned, a Cautionary Tale if you will!

Actual truck rental day went well. It's the 1st time I've done it this way and I'll definitely do it again.Only reason I didn't rate the experience as excellent was the fact that I reserved some plastic boxes for packing. I was there on Friday and the rep told me they had a bunch coming in the next day so I went to pick them up on Saturday morning and found out they weren't arriving until the day I was getting the cargo van. Might want to check your system on how someone can book boxes if you don't have any in stock.

I have dealt with this particular location on the Barnet hwy. For the better part of 20yrs to date. Staff have always been as helpful as 1 could expect nowadays. Some staff have been at this location as long as I have dealt with this U-Haul location. Some miscommunications do happen sometimes and can effect the desired outcome. Example I was given 2 vouchers several years ago, this was due to a staff error in reading the fuel guage (on the wrong truck). Hence I was charged for fuel that was in fact the same amount as when I rented the truck. These 2 vouchers did not have an expiry date on them so I asked the issuing agent to confirm if there was an expiry date as i would not be returning to BC for approx 2 yrs. The agent called her supervisor while on speaker phone and had clearly stated to us if there is no expiry date they do not expire. Exactly 2 yrs. & 1 month later i had returned to BC and needed a rental truck and attempted to utilize these credits. To my shock i was told they were expired and would not be honoured, so i asked where does the expiry date exist as it is not on either credit. I was told they expire after 2 yrs. Maybe new rules that were not in effect at the time of issuing. Even after i was assued by the supervisor they dont expire. It has been several years i have continued to deal with this location and they never resolved my credit issued even after renting several thousands of dollars renting trucks from this location since that time. Hopefully someone in upper management will read this and make good on these vouchers. Otherwise I would have given 5☆ review.

Called them, they said please gold thanks and didn't didn't wait for me to say ok.. waited 20 min. Hung up in the end. Gonna go with someone else. The lady on the phone sounded super miserable even just telling asking to hold. Can't imagine what the actual experience would be. Glad I dodged this bullet

U-haul Coquitlam damaged our newer a car while putting on a tow hitch. The employee who did the damage was rude. They did admit to 3 parts of the car they damaged; but told us we had to use the one repair shop they decided on... no way. You'll be waiting for over an hour for them to deal with you too. No, we did not go there mid month or end of the month. For your protection take photos of all areas of your car and close up photos of the area they are working on so you can prove everything then go through ICBC. If you're renting a truck they never guarantee they will even have one for you. They will "confirm" then say they don't have a truck for you as it's not a guarantee it's just a confirmation. They will tell you they can't help it if someone rented the truck but didn't bring it to their location. They will not help you get one from another location either.

Why does Uhaul MUST contact emergency contact for me to rent for a 10 km maximum day? My wife dropped me off at Uhaul and continued to where we were moving my elderly mother into a retirement home and could not pick up a call while driving. This is a ridiculous policy . I was told if we could not get hold of her, I could not rent the truck. Ridiculous policy.

I paid for two days originally I planned on one day rental but didn’t make it back in time. They said they Charged me 225$ on top of the 2 day rental I paid for because two people needed the truck so 112$ for each person that couldn’t get a truck in time. Although I could clearly see there was other trucks available and two people were not renting the same truck in a few others. Complete scammers

The truck I was booked into had a homeless person sleeping inside, and they had urinated in the cabin. The employees got me a different truck for my trip but the ordeal was startling to say the least. I'd suggest, at a location so close to the sky train, that truck cabins be inspected in the morning before they are cleared for rental. Especially if trucks are being left unlocked.

Wow.... This place is unbelievable! We reserved a moving truck 1 week ago and was given a confirmed truck rental. They called today.... The day before the rental and they don't have a truck to give us.... They offered us $50 buck. A sign of guilt but unhelpful. Maybe they should check out the Seinfeld skit.Worst truck rental EVER!FYI just rented a truck at Home-depot.... Half the price, unlimited Kms and they actually had a truck to rent. YES a physical truck, NOT just a fake reservation!

This company totally ruined our move. We in advance of moving, did an online reservation for moving day. Email was exchanged with what we wanted and when. Long winded email just a form document stating blah, blah, blah. Confirmation email from them followed. Day prior to the move I went to their yard to purchase some items and asked if everything was okay with the scheduled pickup of the truck.... Yupp that's right THEY DO NOT HAVE A 1 WAY TRUCK ANYWHERE IN BC!!!I have purchased a home 400 kilometers away and sold my existing home. My closing day is in 2 days and I've hired movers on both ends to load and unload. They gave me a number to call for help... yeah right, help (haha) they repeated the same story NO TRUCK. Because, on the contract it says "there may NOT be a truck you want available that day. But they will call my before 6 as stated on the contract, to give me this information".Do yourself a favor and DON'T work with U-Haul... and tell all your friends...

Parking was chaos, lineups were too long. I booked weeks in advance and still I had to wait 30 mins to talk to someone to pick up the truck. The self check in system did not work (just like last time, so I don't think it ever works). There were only two people checking customers in, on the last weekend of the month..... To top it all off the staff seemed miserable. Also the app that record the gas used was not accurate at all. Thankfully we took a photo of the gas gauge before we started the trip. They tried to charge us more for gas when we actually filled it up more than how we received it. what a scam. This was a gong show and very stressful.

We booked a truck for a one way. Got confirmation. Less than 24 hours away from our move they said they had no one way truck for us. Now it's costing twice the amount and extra ferry fees to rent an "in town" truck! This sounds scammy for more money. They wouldn't let the in town truck become a one way move truck. We have to drive it all the way back. More money for them!! Buyer beware! If they don't resolve this we are going to find a good journalist and a great comedian to forward spread the word. Pretty sketchy corporation.

SCAMMERS!! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION! THEY ARE SCAMMERS as mentioned in previous posts. They will blame you for scratches that you did not cause and for fuel. Lucky I had pictures of the fuel tank and rental sheet indicating fuel level. Further, make sure you take pictures of the roof and dispute every photo on the app. Manager said he will call with video evidence and still did not call. Will be taking these people to small claims court as I have substantial evidence against them after reviewing my photos more so now with these other scam reviews written in the last couple of weeks. If they are scamming you hundreds of dollars, please bring them to small claims court, it only cost $100 to file a claim and you do not need a lawyer and can represent yourself and bring your evidence. With similar reviews of scam the last couple of weeks, I may think of going to the media about this location.
