I went to H&R Block a few years ago as I was trying to figure out why I owed some money. They literally did not do anything and charged me $100 for it. When I came in to pay the woman said out loud in front of a bunch of other customers that I owe a bunch of money and how much. I said yes and reminded her that that was why I came in, to find out why. I had already paid at this point and was wondering what I even paid for. I had already done my taxes for that year and provided them with the paperwork in case it may help. So at best I paid $100 for them to put a stamp on the envelope and mail it. I went over to Liberty Tax after this. They not only figured out what was wrong with my finances but did it at a fraction of the price. I'm writing this a few years later because it still bothers me that these guys ripped me off.Follow up: Thank you for encouraging me to contact customer service. I did so and explained the situation. They were very polite and understanding. The branch reached out to me and was able to reimburse me as well as reassure me of better practices. I'm happy with their response and would consider giving them another try.

Susan, working at the H&R Block Courtenay office provided me professional advise regarding my taxes. My visit at her office was very friendly. It was apparent that Susan has tremendous amount of knowledge. I highly recommend having your taxes done at this location.

Tammy at H&R Block Courtenay, was so Amazing today. I tried to save money and do my taxes myself, with a LOT of grief I must add. I went in there today almost in tears, and Tammy so graciously took me in to try and fix my problem with sending my file to RCA. She took my stress level from a 10++ down to a 1, with lots of laughs to boot. This was my first time, and will not be my last. For now on, Tammy will be handling ALL my tax files. Thank you Tammy. Had a extraordinary experience. If I could put 10 stars I would. The agent that helped me went above and beyond. I had a credit that I didn't realize I could get and I didn't understand what to do. Absolute worst service I have ever had after gathering all my papers for 3 years worth of taxes was told very rudely “ we won’t do your taxes we will send them to Vancouver it will take 4-8 weeks” not the return money but the actual tax prep. Drove to the next town and they were fully completed in 3 days. I will definitely not be returning to the courtenay hr block.
