Didn't realize they had art supplies. Visited to get new travel water colour set. The staff member though I wouldn't say 'not friendly' was a young girl that I didn't ask her opinion (I was talking to my partner) about how I wanted to try the paint set they had and I compared the quality to my other brand at home (again not a conversation with the staff member) the other brand I love they do sell too.... and she started in on how bad the paints I like and use at home are (an expensive high quality brand) and they don't do this and that, I said I disagree and I like their strong pigment and agree they don't have a lot of granulation (a word she didn't seem familiar with) but she sure seemed to want to keep trying to describe how much better the cheaper quality pan set I was looking at was, I would say almost talking at me like I was dumb instead of having a conversation. I was also surprised she would bad mouth a brand they sell so much instead of saying she personally prefers something. Then when I asked to see the $60 palette she wouldn't let me touch it, I finally said I am not going to break it (it is just plastic and dry paint half pans)... three times I asked if I can see something that she opened and she tried to hold it away from me behind the counter like I am a child that is going to wreck it? It was bizarre behaviour. Though I did buy the palate I would not return to this store or recommend it. She had no idea my base of knowledge or skill with painting, I suspect it is greater than hers and yet she spoke at me like I was dumb and not trustworthy to see the item I was buying. She kept saying don't touch the brissles of the brush... I am like why in the world would I do that, but not only that if I wanted to touch bristles ALL other brushes are here to touch but I am not allowed to touch THAT one... it was strange. Not good customer service experience. When we left my partner was like what was that about, you didn't even ask her her opinion and what did she think you were going to smash the product on the ground. I even said when asking her if I can see inside can she do it as I don't want to wreck the box.... will not return, expensive and I love supporting local but I can buy online without being talked down to/having my high quality paint choices ripped on...
