After having my Son's 1979 ford Ltd at one of the big name repair shop twice for carburetor problems. We got the car back after a week and the car was running really bad. Stalling every time you brake or going from park to drive and stall again. It was obvious this garage did not have a mechanic that could tune a carburetor. We took the car to Mikes and after a few hours he called to say it was fixed. Mike found numerous problems with the work the other garage had done. Long story short the car runs beautifully. Very pleased to have found Mike for our mechanical needs.Service: Carburetor cleaning

I have been taking my vehicles to Mike for a number of years now. He has been a great mechanic - diligent, trustworthy and smart. I have been impressed with his diagnostic ability on more than one occasion. I've also noted that Mike is always completely up-front with what my vehicles need and what they don't need. Mike has been a pleasure to deal with. Fantastic communicator. Went out of his way to get parts, to get our car back on the road.The other thing of note it that Mike uses the highest quality parts available. Mike politely pointed out I had changed the wrong headlight bulb and charged me just for the parts.
If I were living in the Commox Valley, I would definitely consider him for my go-to mechanic!

Called him up on a Saturday to ask about repairing and exhaust leak and maybe a broken hanger on my vehicle and he told me because of my vehicle's age that he doesn't like working on rusty old vehicles like that and he only works on more complex problems. Clearly his bad attitude definitely has some substance to it . Anybody who would do that to a potential customer and say it in that way without even seeing my vehicle!?..has attitude problems as other clients have also mentioned!
