We were in Radium for the Sept 20 weekend and had an issue with our truck. Weird electronic problem that forced the truck to go into "limp mode". We got the truck to Cranbrook, thinking we'd have a better chance of finding a shop in a bigger center. Turns out there are a lot of them in town, but only Meraki was even willing to talk to us. She asked if I could bring the truck down right away for Steve to take a look. Once I arrived, I meet the wife/co-owner. What a super nice and caring lady. It became instantly clear that helping us was a priority. We were stranded 6 hours from home, and they were going to do whatever it took to get us on our way.
Steve did what he could, but the truck had the type of electrical issue that might take days to find. He quickly narrowed down the possible causes and provided us with options to get home. Did a very good job of explaining what he found, and since he really couldn't dig in to find the root cause, he made sure I understood what to do if the issue came up again. When it came time to pay, I was only charged for a half hour and his time was at least double that. I tried to pay more (just to be fair), but that's all she was gonna let me pay. Talk about service - WOW.
They asked me to call with an update on the way back to Alberta, and again when we got home. These people truly care about their customers and genuinely want to be the shop of choice. They interrupted their day to help us out. They didn't have to, since we're in Alberta and probably not going to see any repeat business. But if we lived anywhere near Cranbrook, they would absolutely be our shop. Most shops can provide automotive repair, but Meraki provides service - GREAT SERVICE. I only gave 5 starts cause that's all I can. Next time you need your vehicle worked on, call em. I guarantee you'll be happy. Thanks again!!!! Dave Garon

I cannot recommend Cara & Steve at Meraki highly enough!! We turned up out of the blue on a tow truck, and not only did they squeeze us into their ridiculously busy schedule, but they also got us back up and running in record timing! Apart from being some of the kindest, fun people we've ever met, they made every possible effort to help us, and explained everything as simply as possible to us because we don't know anything about cars! And to top it off, all at a fantastic price. 100% recommended, even if you have to cross the country to get to them! Thank you Steve & Cara!

Meraki by far was the most exceptional mechanic shop I have been to. I am not one to write reviews, however, Steve and Cara’s dedication, work ethic, professionalism and overall care for the people that come to their shop is like no other. I was travelling as a solo female in my camper van and broke down near cranbrook. It was merely by luck that I happen to end up at their shop. Their hearts are so big and they deserve only kindness for how much they care about people, cars and their community. They squeezed me in even though they were jam packed and had another van that broke down earlier that day. As a solo female traveller going to a mechanic shop is always anxiety inducing and I have to prepare myself most times for being ripped off. Cara was exceptionally caring and helped me feel reassured that my van would be road worthy and at a fair cost. Steve took the time to explain every bit of the process and in the end I learned a lot more about mechanics than when I first arrived. There isn’t a single word to describe the professionalism and overall care these two put into ensuring their customers leave happy! Thank you both for everything!!

I broke down outside of Cranbrook (215 km away from home) and multiple people recommended Meraki. They were very helpful and understanding of my situation (I had my 12 year old with me).

Fleet truck needed rear differential and rear brake work. Stranded a long way from home base approaching long weekend with accommodations unavailable. The people here literally kept me on the road. Don’t have the words to express my gratitude.

The coolant in my SUV drained out . The shop had a look at it and determined it was just a loose radiator cap (my bad most likely) ... a lot of shops would probably have told me I needed a whole new radiator but the folks at Meraki Mechanical were straight up and fixed what had to be fixed . I cannot recommend this shop enough .... great people , great integrity and top notch service !!!

This is a separate review because it is regarding the response I received.Regrettably, the mother from Miraki Mechanical reached out to me multiple times, making claims about work done on my Jeep that I learned to be untrue. It's disheartening to encounter such misinformation, especially from a professional entity. Moreover, the response from the father was notably unprofessional, which only added to the frustration of the situation.What disappoints me the most is the perceived use of the business name to engage in what I can only describe as bullying tactics. I believe that one's character is reflected not only in their work but also in how they handle misunderstandings and conflicts. The interactions I've had in this situation leave much to be desired in terms of professionalism.It's disconcerting to think that a string of positive reviews could potentially overshadow what seems to be a lapse in ethical conduct. I implore Miraki Mechanical to reflect on the impact their responses and actions may have on their business reputation. The attached images and correspondence serve as evidence of the unfortunate circumstances surrounding this review.In conclusion, this review is not an attack on the company's services but a reflection of my disappointment in the way a personal matter was handled. Title: Unpleasant Experience at Meraki Mechanical AutomotiveI recently encountered significant challenges with Meraki Mechanical Automotive in Cranbrook, BC, and I feel it's crucial to share my concerns about the unprofessional conduct and disrespectful behavior exhibited by the staff.My initial engagement with this family-owned business took a distressing turn due to a disagreement with the daughter, leading to a conflict that extended beyond professional boundaries. Subsequently, the mother, seemingly obtaining my personal phone number from her daughter, engaged in repeated and harassing communication, including threats of placing a lien on a vehicle that her daughter had serviced, despite the vehicle being set to be returned. Additionally, I received a follow-up call from the father, seemingly ignoring his prior recommendation to his daughter to promptly return the vehicle.In the weeks following this encounter, the daughter informed me that no work had been done on the car, and the parts ordered were returned for a refund. However, she expected me to purchase a suspension kit, as her boyfriend had bought it for her. This interaction displayed a complete disregard for decency, transparency, maturity, and appeared to be driven by greed. The initial projection of kindness was overshadowed by the unfortunate need to return the vehicle, revealing a series of lies from the family. The mother misrepresented that the vehicle had already been fixed and expected payment for the work and non-refundable parts. Later, the daughter revealed that none of this work had been done, and they only lied to extort money for the return of the vehicle. They further demanded payment for services that were not completed. This entire episode unfolded in the midst of a challenging time, the loss of my father, which they exacerbated with their greed. None of these issues were foreseen during the initial transaction, and the family-owned business exploited the situation, using their company to pressure me into giving them excess money.The lack of professionalism and consistency displayed during these interactions was deeply concerning. The mother's inappropriate language, such as referring to me as a "b...," was entirely unacceptable and not befitting of a small business in Cranbrook.It is disheartening to witness manipulation and a complete disregard for professional conduct from individuals associated with a family-owned business. In any industry, customer service and professionalism should be paramount, and regrettably, this was not my experience with Meraki Mechanical Automotive.I caution others to exercise vigilance when interacting with this family business, as my encounter has left a lasting negative impression. Moreover, the maturity and transparency displayed by these business owners may lead to confusion and strained relations for any child or staff they lead in social settings. I sincerely hope that Meraki Mechanical takes these concerns seriously and addresses the need for improved professionalism and customer relations in its respective industry.

If I could give more stars I would as these folks deserve it ! I’m new to the Cranbrook area and Meraki Mechanical came highly recommended, well for good reason, unsurpassed customer service, professionalism, integrity the list goes on, in my 30plus years of owning vehicles I have never come across a repair shop as awesome as this and it’s totally refreshing to to find one!! Thanks to everyone who recommended on Cranbrook FB and thank you Meraki !
