The owner raised his voice at me, talked over me, and belittled me during our entire interaction. He also attempted to physically remove the room keys from my hands. Their website and entryway says they allow pets when in fact they don’t - only on certain days which seem entirely made up by the owner. He took my money and then proceeded to add on all sort of stipulations onto what I couldn’t do - including park in the parking lot that had free spaces. He refunded me when all was said and done but my gosh, I’d never give this person my money ever again.

Nice place to stay in Dajiing Gilds. Not too fancy, but suitable and clean. Having a fridge in the room was an added bonus! Thank you Frank!

Great location, really wonderful staff who went out of their way for anything I needed, even coming in at 6am so I could check in after the ferry. Loved my stay here!

This motel is exactly what you'd hope for in a place as unique and special as DG. My corner room had a lovely view of a patch of salmonberries, which drew in Sitka deer and filled the evenings with the gentle sound of tree frogs—a peaceful and memorable touch of nature right outside the window.
Frank, the manager, was absolutely wonderful. When I mentioned I’d love a kettle for tea, he sorted it out right away and remedied any of my concerns . He was kind, genuine, and eager to share helpful info about all the great things to explore in DG. It really made the stay feel personal and welcoming.
The Eagle Rock diner next door to the Sea Raven is another highlight—the staff there were just as lovely, and it made grabbing a bite to eat super convenient.
All in all, it was a warm, down-to-earth, and refreshing stay. I’d definitely come back again!

**edited to add - the smoke detector was NOT in the room but added later by the owner to photograph which makes me even more upset that he is trying to gaslight us and you into believing his lies. For a business owner to straight out lie in a text is beyond disgusting. And I just looked up the price of a BRAND NEW TOILET at $189 so charging $100 for a 45 year old piece of a lid is beyond.
If you’ve read this and stay there anyway… I’m sorry I couldn’t convince you and I hope your experience is markedly better than ours. I will NEVER stop telling people how awful this experience was.
We chose to spend one night here due to a big wind storm and not wanting to be in a tent during that weather. Price was expensive ($180 including a fee for two dogs) but expected.
Room was aged but clean. The room was lacking basic safety equipment - predominantly there was no smoke detector, completely illegal in a motel.
We covered the beds with sheets so dog hair wouldn’t transfer and were quietly in bed before 10pm - the room next to us however partied and had guests over knocking on doors until 2:30 am so sleep was non existent.
After turning down the heat and turning lights off as requested we returned our key and boarded the ferry.
At this point we were contacted by the owner saying he was charging us $100 plus tax for damage to the toilet - which had stopped flushing and required inside access to the tank to reset - my setting the lid down cracked it. I certainly wasn’t violent and this indicates to me previous wear and tear on a PINK toilet that was made 40 years ago. Making a guest pay $112 for a toilet purchased that long ago?
Also he is flat out lying to us trying to say there was a smoke detector in the room.
Do not ever ever ever stay here. Ever.
Scammers and liars.

After camping for 3 days, I was able to book a well priced room on short notice only for it to be upgraded for free upon arrival. Frank was efficient, incredibly kind and offered any help needed during my stay. This place is close to the laundromat, the amazing Fish and Chips at the end of the dock and most resources within walking distance! For a 2 star motel, the room was spacious and had a fridge, kitchen sink and microwave to boot. Will definitely come back on my next visit!

I booked a room with a kitchen, but there was no sink. I had to use the bathroom sink. The bathtub hot water faucet didn't work so I couldn't use the water. There is a musty smell in the room. The room I booked has a ‘deluxe kitchen included’.

It’s an older motel. The staff is the highlight. Very kind people working there. The rooms could use a little love. The location is great and I appreciated a hot shower after a week of camping. It made it easy to catch the ferry the next morning.
Walkability: Close to everything in Daajin.
