Took my car in for a tire change over last year and was comped out due to long wait time even though they were extremely busy - was so appreciated!! This year I went back and they had it done super fast, also informed me of any issues I had with my car and was able to fit me in between appointments less than a week later!! Staff are always super kind and understanding!! Always have a positive experience there!

Today Nov 21st, I had a 10 am apt for a tire change, it's now 11:50 my truck is still outside hasn't even been pulled in, the service adviser walked out to it 1/2 hr ago, yet there it sits. Extremely poor customer service. I ran shops including treadpro for forty yrs, never did my customers wait 2 hrs past apt time, expessially without a word from service advisors.
EDIT
Happy customer in the end, although I didn't like the four hr wait time, I was presently surprised when the job was done, and without a word from me Andrew comped the cost of the swap,NO CHARGE
Thank you Kal Tire

Thank you for the quick response. I received a call from the assistant manager, Jakkub, this afternoon, and he asked me to come in after my work. I appreciate Jakkub for reimbursing me for my alignment cost and moreover for his professionalism. While I'm sad to hear that Jakkub is moving to GP. People like him should be in the shop to ensure that customers leave satisfied. I also want to thank Ryan and Anandhu for their service and support; three of them clearly understood the situation and handled it well, “which I had expected from Manager Andrew yesterday but did not receive.”

DISSATISFACTION ALERT!!
Last week, I took my car to Kal Tire for alignment. I usually service my vehicle at the Edmonton service center, but this was just for alignment. I double-checked with the Kal Tire technicians to ensure they could handle it properly, and they assured me they could. Trusting them, I left my car there.
When I returned to pick it up in the afternoon, I noticed the left rear was completely sagging. The manager explained that when they heated a bolt, the air line burst. I was upset, but he assured me they had ordered a replacement from Vancouver and would fix it. My car stayed at Kal Tire for a week, forcing me to cancel several appointments. I didn’t create a scene or file a complaint, understanding that mistakes happen.
Once they received the air line, they repaired it but couldn't adjust the height because it required coding at the service center. I rescheduled my service appointment to yesterday, moving it up from October, and took a day off work to drive my car to Edmonton. I didn’t ask Kal Tire to cover my fuel or hotel expenses.
When I picked up my car after they fixed the air line, they said they had aligned it and wouldn’t charge me for the inconvenience. The manager mentioned that Kal Tire would reimburse me for any charges related to this issue from Edmonton BMW. However, on my way to Edmonton, I noticed my car pulling to the left, indicating that the alignment hadn’t been properly done.
The BMW technicians inspected it and confirmed that the alignment still needed to be fixed. I was charged for both the inspection and alignment. After returning to Dawson, I went back to Kal Tire, showed them the receipt and alignment report, but the manager only reimbursed me for the inspection charge, saying he couldn't cover the alignment cost.
I feel this is unfair. I didn’t ask for travel expenses, didn’t cause a scene, and approached the situation understanding that everyone makes mistakes. However, the manager’s attitude was disappointing and unexpected, especially given everything that had happened. In the end, customer satisfaction should be the priority, and I didn’t receive that from Kal Tire. It’s not fair.

They were the only tire shop in town that had the tires we needed and could put em on same day. Thank you guys for your help and awesome work!

We arrived in Dowson Creek with a flat tire on our camping trailer. With only 10 minutes before closing. These young men replaced the tires and got us on the road again. Much appreciated the help and effort.

I took my truck in for a wheel alignment and was told I needed 2700 dollars in repairs I took to another shop and the only thing I actually needed was a cv axel and rear brake pads. I will never bring anything back to kal tire and to top it off they where rude to my girlfriend when she picked the truck up.

The initial experience was a bit chaotic through miscommunication, but once communication was established, the manager Andrew went above and beyond by helping us more than we could ever ask for in a time of desperate need. 100% recommend you go see Andrew and the crew in dawson for any vehicle or tire needs.

*Update: the manager got in touch with me regarding the issue and offered to make up for it. Appreciate reaching out to hear about the experience in the hopes they work towards improving their customer service.*Very chaotic and disorganized. Left the car at 4pm for a seemingly less than 2 hour work (as they already did the first half earlier). Never called later that night if the work was done or not, despite telling on the phone that they would. Could not reach the store the next morning - kept being transferred to the commercial/regional (?) cal tire who stated the store would open at 9am even though the website states at 7.30 am. If you're not going to pick up the calls, at least leave an automated message that the store is currently open - that way I could walk earlier and not be late for my other commitments. If you're behind on your appointments - at least update the customer and I could come back another day.On top of all this, they overcharged for abt $1000 more. Regretted going there at all.
