This is a message received by the Guru himself. All because someone doesn't recommend his service. I didn't agree with his method when it came to my dog and I found it only made her more aggressive and food possessive. When my dog came home from the bootcamp all of her toys and her bed all smelt like pee. I was disappointed to discover this as I know my dog at home didn't have any accidents indoors. His method of not feeding my dog the day that we were training didn't feel right to me. I followed his instructions as I was hopeful that this professional knew what he was talking about. He never did any positive food rewards so the fact that I was instructed not to feed her the days of training left me confused. He said it would help motivate her to follow the instructions and listen better. I found she became an even bigger floor surfer and looking into everything and anything she could get herself into on those days. Any other day when she was fed she was fine. I personally will not be taking any future dogs there and will not recommend him to anyone. He thinks positive reinforcement training isn't for most dogs and fear based training is the best and fastest route for a well behaved dog. My dog is now a happy balanced dog, but it definitely wasn't thanks to the Guru.

My dog hasn't had any accidents in our home at all as we were very diligent with her potty training as a puppy. I will not go there and I will not recommend to anyone.

10/10 Brazilian Dog Guru in Kamloops has always been there for us. We have a 170lb Boerboel. Other Kennels make excuses not to take her, as she is big and intimidating, but the Dog Guru has come thru for us 100% of the time. Highly recommend these folks. I have called them last minute multiple time, and always find a way to say “YES” to us. Thanks for bailing us out again folks, you saved our family vacation to Mexico. Nala loves them, well treated by them, and is always happy to walk thru their doors.

Our experience with Fernando and his staff was amazing from the very beginning. My 6 month old German Shepherd was out of control. I had to walk him early in the morning and late at night because he was reactive. I could not have him around friends or family. The day I dropped him off we were greeted by a young man that gave me assurance that I had made the right decision. He shared that Fernando had trained both his dogs and told me a few stories of other clients. The rest of the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was clear they loved their job and the dogs that they cared for. Once Fernando had my dog trained it was my turn and Fernando was amazing with both of us. He was firm, caring and supportive. I was able to interact with other Pet Parents and now feel part of a community. Fernando instilled a confidence in me that has helped me be a better leader for my pup. I am able to have my family and friends visit and I am able to walk him in busy areas during the day. My dog and my relationship with him have truly been transformed and I am so very grateful. I HIGHLY recommend Fernando and his staff.

Well worth it. E collars have a bad rep and aren't near as bad as some people make them sound. His training is extremely effective. I would recommend giving him a call.

Fernando worked with our adopted 2 year old dog named Leo for a three week session and she came home a different dog. I was sceptical when we brought her as it looked like he had his hands quite full, but was pleasantly surprised. When we adopted her she was constantly pulling, barking, chasing cars, people, animals and bears in our neighbourhood. She had no recall and we were terrified she would get hurt or get in others space.I said when we dropped her off - even if she doesn't change at least we'll get a break... But she did change, now listens and we have the tools to keep her on track.We are no longer pulling our hair out, now we can enjoy our beautiful, sweet, kind and happy Leo!

My beautiful dog came back from one week of training underweight and very smelly. I was handed a bag of barely touched food and a plethora of excuses of why my dog wasn’t fed. He was dehydrated and his eyes were bloodshot.. he couldn’t wait to get out of there and into our vehicle to go home. The problems I brought my dog here for were not addressed and I was personally degraded for not walking him in a straight enough line (re-learning to walk on a leash was not the reason I brought my dog here for) when I voiced my concern, the owner blew up my phone with text messages stating that I’m the problem and I need to work on myself. Will not be bringing any of my dogs here in the future

I adopted a pitbull named Penelope from Texas 4 years ago. She showed a high prey drive with our cats, so after having her at home for 48 hours, I sent her to Fernando's bootcamp program. It was the best decision I have ever made, as she is the most well behaved dog to this day, no ecollar needed in years. She is offleash 95% of the time and has better recall than any other dog at the dog park.
The best part, aside from the amazing training is that I added a brother to my life named Fernando. Love you man, and although there will always be haters, the rest of us know how amazing you and your staff are. Too bad I can't bring her to visit as we're back out in the Prairies, but when we come to town we will stop in.
