We purchased a bundle of Tea Time Munch sticks for our chinchillas from Petland, something we’ve bought before without any issues. I made toys out of the sticks, but noticed our chinchillas weren’t eating much of it. Upon closer inspection, I saw what appeared to be mold all over the sticks. My husband and I took a picture of the sticks and brought it to the store's attention, not seeking a refund, but simply wanting them to be aware of a potential supplier issue.
To our surprise, there was no apology, no interest in informing their supplier, and we were told we needed a receipt for any refund. While we had used our rewards card for the purchase, since we were only recent customers, they couldn’t find the purchase. It wasn’t about the money—it was about making them aware of a problem.
What was truly disappointing was the lack of care or goodwill. Up until now, we’ve had excellent experiences with the friendly staff, but this interaction left a bad taste. A simple “we’re sorry” or an assurance that they’d follow up with the supplier would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience has really soured our opinion of the store.

The staff are so kind and helpful here! I’ve gotten most of my fish here they have a great selection! I’ve also gotten dog and cat supplies here , great quality!!! Really clean and lots of stuff in stock and good prices!!❤️

Very friendly staff here! Clean and well laid out store. Really like the fact that they donate space for local animal rescues. Staff were helpful and store was well stocked.

Walked in to look for something with being lost for no more than 1 min I was approached by a lady who seemed like she was on her way out the door but took a second to ask if I needed help and then introduced me to Jo who was working she listened to what I needed and also gave some very knowledgeable advice super friendly super helpful, just an amazing experience thank you to the staff working today I will surely be making this my go to petstore because of them!
