My first cooking class, but definitely not my last one. Spotless kitchen, great chefs, who were beaming with passion and engagement and pride of their profession. Who would have thought that tortilla making is soo much fun. And the churros with spicy chocolate sauce ... delicious! Chef Travis showed and explained wonderfully, then we got to our stoves- hands-on. Anytime you turned around there was somebody to help, give advice, lend a hand or compliment you on what you have done. Great experience. I will definitely be back! Thanks

Took an Italian street food experience… very very disappointing. It’s one thing to charge 150.00 per person and have an experience, but totally another when there’s nothing in the experience… sound system was terrible, they kept changing the gear, several times, didn’t actually show how to prep the simple appies , just had everything pre prepped and served the class sub acceptable food. Well below what should be acceptable to any of the participants…. So disappointing

Took Knife Skills 101, I would highly recommend for anyone! Chef Travis was a fantastic instructor, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient. As a home cook who entertains constantly, the skills I learned in this class are invaluable and changed the way I understood how important technique and the right knife can enhance the cooking experience!

I just moved to Kelowna and have stopped in here twice to buy some stuff that I need for my house. Both times have been fairly unpleasant / frustrating experiences. The first time I went it was unpleasent as I felt very unwelcome. I had a few questions and the gentleman with black hair behind the counter didn't seem to feel like I was important enough for him to look up from his computer to help me. I asked about other kitchen stuff I needed and told me to look upstairs and pointed in the wrong direction to the stairs leaving me confused for a few minutes wondering around the back of the store before I had to ask him again where to go. Later in my shopping experience the same gentleman yelled at my kids for playing with a demo milk foaming product (one of the cheapest products this store carrries.) I can understand addressing an incident like this. Part of his job is to protect the products in the store. However, I don't think there is ever a reason for a stranger to raise their voice to another strangers children ages 4 and 7. It is traumatic for the kids and shows complete disrespect for the parent right there (I was never talked to directly) I ended up buying well over 300 dollars worth of stuff and I walked out feeling like I wished I had given my dollars to someone else. The second time I was in was super frustrating. I should say this time the staff was lovely. I was helped by shorter young woman with glasses and her collegue. Both were very eager to help and assisted me as best they could. The frustrating part was the selection offered. I was looking for a chef's knife in the 100 dollars range. It was explained to me that most of their knives were a little more expensive as they mainly only carry two brands - Shun and Wusthof. We quickly discovered together that they also carry Kai Knives. What bothered me was that I know both Shun and Wusthof have very nice knives in my price range. I know I can go somewhere else to find what I needed. However, I live very close, and Lakehouse does advertise themselves as a home and kitchen store. I don't feel like I should have to go out of my way to find a knife in my price range. knives are by far the most important tool in the kitchen. It is insane to me that Lakehouse has like five brands of milk foamers but only two brands of knives displayed in a small out the way part of the store. It also feels a little discriminatory that they only carry decent knives in the 200 dollar range when their distrubuters offer them at all price points. It is also is a little bit of gut punch knowing that I can get their budget brand Kai for half the price on Amazon. Overall, I know I am not their target audience. So maybe I should be less critical. It might be a good idea to put a sign on the door to make it a little clear who this store serves. Maybe something like " Rich, white, stay at home wives only." It might prevent some confusion in the future.

What a fine establishment! The staff are very professional, friendly, skilled and knowledgeable. The kitchen school spaces (2) are sparkling clean and the tables for watching the chefs and/or enjoying your creations are warm and welcoming. It's a unique experience I highly recommend as a thoughtful gift for that special someone or a highly enjoyable evening for yourself!

Great place to find stuff for the modern kitchen. They also offer cooking classes. Today we had some amazing canapés with Rosé slurpies.

Chef Bernard is an amazing teacher. Not only did he demonstrate the recipes but gave us useful tips for cooking in general. Then we cooked and at the end of that sat in a lovely dining area and enjoyed the food. The kitchen is state of the art… I will be back - what a fabulous time we had !!!

I attended a bread-baking class and can't speak highly enough about the experience. I had fun, learned a LOT, and came away with three types of bread! On top of all that, a lovely lunch was also included. Working in a professional kitchen was a real treat, and the instructor was knowledgeable and gave lots of opportunities for questions! Two happy thumbs up!

Took part in the Spanish Tapas cooking demonstration and dinner. The cooking school setting is fabulous, Chef Travis was entertaining, informative and personable, and the other staff were attentive and helpful. The menu was fun and well laid out, and we left comfortable that we would be able to recreate these delicious and flavourable meals at home. I would highly recommend! We will be back to take part in another class sometime soon.

This was my first cooking class at Lakehouse Cooking School. It was an amazing experience. I learned so much about putting together an entire meal revolving around Pai Thai. The kitchen and space are extremely functional. So much attention to detail! I'll be signing up for several more classes!
