I was shopping Michael's at approx 6:30 pm. Had wanted/needed to use the washroom. When I got to where the washrooms are, there was a sign that they were closed. I asked a staff about the washrooms being closed - "yes, we close them at 5 pm." To which I replied "how inconsiderate." That's 4 hrs of business time without washroom accessibility. Then at the checkout I had to bag my own purchase. I asked the young man "don't you bag anymore?" His response was "it's not required here." I had supplied my own bag but I'm sure had I purchased a Michael's bag the cashier would have bagged it for me. Michael's carries a wide range of product but their customer service sucks..

I'm finding my visits to Michael's not as thrilling anymore. It's difficult to locate "trending" crafts. They have a great selection of yarn and picture frames but lacking in keeping up with current trends of the crafting world.

The name doesn't indicate what the store sells, unfortunately for people like me, who need craft supplies. Michaels is a large craft store with most art supplies, including paints and papers, and has a framing studio where you choose frames and they assemble your art or pictures, at back of store. I bought a bottle of touch-up paint to match a chip but couldn't read the information on the back, so I took a picture and magnified it to read.

Michaels is a fabulous store if you're into arts and crafts. Michaels offers everything under the sun when it comes to enhancing your arts and crafts experience. The weekly 30% to 40% off regular priced items has come in handy many many times for me! The staff are always very courteous and helpful. I'll keep going back!

While shopping I heard two female employees at the Kelowna location in the sticker isle completely trashing the store manager. Saying she should step down already if she can’t do the job and that she always leaves the garbage by the back door for others to take out. Unfortunately I had to interrupt to ask a question and got scolded as “we don’t have any left because Christmas is 8 days away and we put the stuff out 3 months ago” so I guess no one should shop 8 days before Christmas? I guess not at Michaels!

I am a disabled person living in kelowna recently i visited michaels to buy some yarn when i came up to the counter to pay in my wheelchair there was only one customer in line the lady at till directed me to use their self checkout. The screen was not at the adequate height for me to read it. i basically couldn't read most of things on the screen nor could i see the card reader machine cause it was mounted above head height. i never wanted to do self checkout but it seemed like the lady at the cash register didn't want to serve me. i cant believe that companies expect disabled people to conform to this kind of corporate greed scheme. To not hire people and get people to be there own cashier. i will never shop at michaels again as i don't support companies that try to make me the cashier. i don't work there.i dont to feel like i work there. I will take my business, my friendliness and my friends somewhere else

I was immediaterl herded towards their self checkout when going to pay, knowing full well I could not enter the rewards info there. Their cashier Pearson refused to process my purchase at their till where I knew the info would enter ok for the rewards. She then get mad when the info would not enter at the checkout and blamed me for not knowing my own phone number. Really hard to enter stores and not buy everything on Amazon when this is the experience you get.

Race to the bottom here. Not much to say about this Michael's. Pretty useless overall. Never stocked. Impossible to find an average, apathetic, rep to help. High prices. When you phone, the answering machine just hangs up on you. They make a good argument for ordering from a different company online. Not going back anytime soon.

I placed an order online for the Gnome Garlands. I picked them up and they were not in a bag and were so tangled up it took me almost 1/2 an hour to gently untangle them. More care should have been taken when this order was pulled and filled.

Your new self checkout is a waste of time. Won't print receipts properly then have to return the item and buy again to get a receipt. How about you just stop being cheep and just put humans in instead of wasting my time?

One of the employees, R***e was pretty rude to me for no reason. It made my shopping experience pretty sour. Also, I feel like the employees could smoke somewhere other than in front of the store?

It is unfortunate that a large company such as Michael's can't afford staff to work as cashiers and chooses to force the customers to do the work. I will not support an establishment that makes self checkout the only option. Several customers were vocally annoyed being forced to use self checkout.

We don't work at your stores and you don't pay us anything to use the now-forced upon-us self-checkout stations. We will no longer be shopping at your stores as frequently as we had. Put people back on the tills. Most of your patrons are older folks who like interacting with real human beings and not being forced to use faceless confusing self-checkouts. Was asked if we had fun with the new process by the lady working the checkout area. We told her "No! It was terrible and makes us want to shop here much less." Stop trying to save a few bucks so your CEO can buy a new mega yacht. You are turning into Walmart by going this route and they get no money from us.

Michaels is a go-to destination for arts and crafts enthusiasts. I recently visited the store and was impressed by the wide array of supplies they offer. From paints and brushes to paper crafts and home decor, Michaels has it all. The store layout was organized, making it easy to navigate through the aisles. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, readily assisting me in finding specific items.I particularly enjoyed the variety of options available for different projects and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, Michaels has something to offer. The prices were reasonable, and they often had sales and discounts, which made it even more appealing. The only downside was that during peak hours, the store could get a bit crowded, making it slightly challenging to browse freely. However, this seems to be a common issue in many popular stores.Overall, Michaels provides a fantastic selection of arts and crafts supplies, a helpful staff, and a welcoming environment for creative minds. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to unleash their artistic flair.
