I took my daughter into this book store to find a little something for her for Christmas. The warmth and genuine kindness we were met with was so refreshing. I felt like I had stepped into a mom-and-pop shop book store back from when I was a kid. Thank you to the lovely lady working today for showing patience with my busy one year old and for being very helpful. I was in search of a book my mom use to read me and she knew which one it was right away. We left with more than I’d plan to buy because it was just such a great store with lots of goodies!

I've tried to bring clothes back for the consignment program 4 times now and they turned me away each time saying they are at max capacity. It's such a pain to lug your baby and items in to be turned away so many times! They said I would have to line up at 830am to be able to return any items.

Prices are insanely high. While value village is a bargain. Very unorganized store, stuff everywhere, rude staff. I definitely won't be back.

Amazing staff and great prices. They really make sure the clothes are in style and free of holes or any other imperfections. They also have some hidden gems like dancewear and board games.

They get alot of things dropped off and high inventory so they are really picky about the clothes they accept.Great for the shopper not for the seller.

Funny they don’t accept much yet their sales floor is full of garbage stained and piled clothing from shien. Won’t accept shoe because they’re dirty on the bottom yet the shoe buckets are full of FILTHY shoes. Won’t accept a stroller because it doesn’t have an owners Manuel yet have one on the sales floor that’s extremely old. I don’t understand. Don’t waste your time!!!

Waited to drop off an item and was ignored for 5 minutes while the staff chatted about traffic to each other. They said nothing to me after finally looking at the item, I gave them some time and they decided not to take my item that was in perfect condition. I probably won't be returning to consign items because some of the staff are very not attentive to customers, and I also feel the evaluation of the items are ridiculous.

Stuffed to the gills! We have always found some great clothing. They have great clearance sales every so often!

Once Upon A Child is my first stop for recycling my daughter's outgrown clothes and other items she no longer uses. We drop off here first to get some quick money. Any items that don't qualify for Once Upon A Child to buy we then take to the next stop to be donated.

This review is for the Kamloops Once Upon A Child store. The staff are incredibly rude, and they basically only buy items that are brand new with no evidence of use. I scrubbed the toys and washed the clothes, and because there were a couple tiny stains on a play mat, a bit of corrosion on two toys, and a couple specs of dog hair on some of the clothes, they wouldn’t accept my items.I’ll just continue to support other places that will accept my gently used items and give them to families that need them and aren’t going to make such a huge fuss over such minor inconveniences. ??♀️ I won’t be back that’s for sure.

This is a great store. There was such a variety of clothes that our kids absolutely love. There are lots of toys for cheap too! Like LOL dolls or transformers or paw patrol.

I have made an attempt to support this small business twice dropping off clothing items. First time I thought I would give them another chance. Maybe it was an off day.The staff were extremely blunt and rude. The expectations of people to wait around all day and come back same day to pick up their order is not very family friendly practice for children’s clothing. It would be lovely if any products dropped off could be picked up the next business day before 11:00.I will not be shopping or dropping off clothing here unless I hear about some drastic changes to their policies and their customer service. They definitely do not go in order on when things arrive as boxes placed below on their paper list were crossed off before others.I have supported other Once Upon a Child stores in other cities with much better service. It is too bad the only okanagan location cannot have a better reputation.

As a first time mom the staff here are supremely supportive and helped me with all my questions, supporting second hand items is super important with anyone that has a smaller budget!

Great place to buy used kids clothing. Usually my first stop in Kelowna when in need of something.Would recommend shopping their sales, as you can get great deals (5/15$ sleepwear anyone?), but even regular prices aren't too bad. Sometimes you'll find items of questionable quality with stains/pilling, etc., but you can also find things that look brand new.Staff are friendly, and store is well organized by size. Best selection is for 1 year and under, but still a decent selection for older toddler/kids too.Selling your items has its advantages over other consignment stores, as you get your money right away, but you can be paid fairly little for what you sell to them. Another pro is they also take books and toys, not just clothes.
