Never enough cashiers on leading to long waits of 10min on average before you reach the register.
It’s Friday night and only one cashier on.
I’m allergic to self checkouts.

Save-on-foods in Ladysmith is an excellent store! With fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat and a variety of cheeses, milk and other products supporting local processors, and great staff, I am an appreciative customer. Be it the shopping on behalf of me when I have not been well, or the momentary “I will reach that for you” or “Let’s go to the next aisle,” I am respectful of the employees and others. Thank-you.

I just want to give a great thanks to Noah, who went above and beyond. I needed a cake at the last minute, and Noah at first seemed uncertain as there were no bakery staff. Nonetheless, he made it his mission to get me the cake I needed.

I like this Save On Foods store in Ladysmith. Shopped there today, picked up a 4 pack of Muffins called Mixed Berry Lemon, sounded good. But when I got them home and tried one I was very disappointed with the lack of "mixed berries" in the muffins. Just a few scraps on the top, almost nothing inside. The picture I have here is of a muffin that has the most fruit of any of them, still a poor showing. Tasted good but expected more fruit. In the grand scheme of things this is pretty minor, just wanted to let Save On they could do better.

Yesterday my partner and I went to Save On Foods and while there we decided to pickup a pumpkin pie. It was so disgusting, he had one bite and I took a small taste. The spices used were not the usual for pumpkin pie and sooo over spiced plus there was a chemical back taste left that stayed around on the pallet for a long time. He tried one more bite and then said “I can’t eat this” and tossed the rest of the slice in the garbage and the next morning the rest of it was thrown out. I have never in my life had such a disgusting pie!

Watch for correct charges on sale items at checkout. Several times I have had to return to this store for refunds as I was charged the regular price, and last time a lot more than that! Charged $35.+ for 2 kgs of cheeries on sale for $8.80 a kg. My tenant tells me this happens to her a lot at this store as well.

Best grocery store to shop. Staff are so helpful. As I am only a tourist visiting Vancouver, the staff accorded card discount even though I don’t have a member’s card. It helps to save a bit more ???

Reasonable prices for most things (although vegetables tend to be expensive compared to Country Grocer). Friendly and helpful staff. Online ordering is very fast and efficient.
