ProsBeautiful, clean, quiet and private in the Lettered Campsites, the beach is so nice and has a shaded area with picnic tables and a small playground for young kids. Bathrooms are clean.ConsNo signs to the garbage area, bathrooms or to the Lettered Campsites. We relied completely on the map they provide on their website until we got used to all the trails. No place to clean your dishes. Some campsites are smaller - not sure they would fit a larger tent like ours. Our 8-person tent just fit on Campsite S, where we stayed.Numbered Campsites seemed too close to each other, not much privacy and a gives a crowded vibe.Only two stalls of toilet and shower in the bathroom. There often was a line to use the facilities, which are definitely not enough for the number of campers there were.Bathrooms are located in a corner of the campground, meaning some campsites are right next to them but others (most of them) are at the opposite end and we had to walk the entire campground to get to them. Not a flat walk. It's rough terrain, with very steep hills that are bad enough for a young person carrying nothing, let alone older campers, pregnant people, parents with young children on their arms, someone who hurt a toe and is limping or the obvious going back and forth to the parking lot to leave the food in the car and bring it back in the morning. This was one of the main inconveniences of all: the long distances full of steep, slippery hills. Disclaimer: they do inform beforehand that "The campsite may prove challenging for persons with physical challenges, disabilities or mobility problems" I thought they meant the elderly, or people who use a walker or wheelchair. But this is true for anyone really. Ideally this is for people in their best shapes and no babies or toddlers to carry. Can't stress this enough. We also had a situation, a loud siren went off around 2-3am. Most people woke up, got off their tents in the dark, trying to figure out what was going on, what alert that was. We were never told what that siren was about.Still, we had lots of fun, not particularly because of the campsite, but because we were with our family and friends. Overall not the worst experience.Playground: A small one, shaded, next to the beach and picnic tables, meant for young children.Restrooms: Clean, far, few.

The washroom and showers are cleaned regularly. The playground is great for small kids dogs allowed but not on beach which is nice. Staff are friendly. The only downfall is there is no boat launch there. You either have to go to the government wharf or honeymoon bay

We missed a place to clean dishes. As tentcampers and hikers we do not have much stuff to bring.Nice warm showers and a beautiful swimming place and beach. The roads are sprayed to prevent dust??????. Give more instruction about garbage where to put it.The campsite needs maintenance of the municipality. They own it.Restrooms: Clean and good.

Nice location with a nice beach on the lake. Some camp sites are a little small but nice overall. Quiet after 10pm consistently.

My fave camping spot for the past couple years! I have camped here a few times this summer and last summer - I always book an rv campsite to have the convenience of power, water and the lake, washrooms close by.I find the washrooms incredibly clean and well kept considering how busy it is. The lake is gorgeous and all of us love the log boom surrounding the swim area! Super fun to sit and roll the logs! The dock in the lake is well kept. The campsiters are very clean.I have always paid attention to the bear warnings and I always keep a clean campsite for this reason. The staff are helpful, and attentive when I have ever needed anything.I do wish that The Municipality of Cowichan ( or Township? ) in some way, could help to enforce people keeping clean sites and all totes / coolers put away in the eve - this would help reduce the bear activity in the area possibly. Like, totally put your totes / coolers / garbage / dishes IN your camper, truck, vehicle etc - not just tucked under the picnic table - that won't cut it!!Hate to think of attracting bears and having them pay the ultimate price.

ProsNo litter, anywhere. Well kept.Clean washroom with 2 showers, cleaned regularly.Short walk to a nice beach on the lake. The camps that you can park in, have plenty of room and the washroom is close by.ConsCan't park at some camps, so you have to haul your gear along the trail, and some of these ones barely fit a tent and a couple of chairs. If you're camp is up the hill amongst the trees, the washroom isn't close. At the time of writing, there was a fire ban in BC, yet 3 separate families had fires going. A group arrived at 10pm, playing music, very loud. Nobody on site to deal with these types of issues. There's an alarm/horn that sounds from the town, woke us up at midnight. Not sure what that's all about.

This is a absolutely beautiful place to camp.... beautiful trails all around, dog friendly, beaches are GORGEOUS! The staff who take care of the grounds do a stand up job...the keep it extremely well maintained. The showers and bathrooms are spotless! It's about 5 minutes from town so you can run into town and get Tim Hortons !! ? after all...TIMMY'S IS A PRIORITY!???

Just as beautiful of a Campsite as I remember when I used to go as a child. Clean facilities and staff was very accommodating. Not sure what all these people are complaining about small campsites. There is campsites for all different kinds of setups, big and small!

Great location, water is fantastic and nice dock and marine dock. Clean washrooms and showers is very nice and they do a drive by twice a day to pick up your garbage and recycling. Some of the sites are small and a lot of the RV sites don't have hook up/power just a few. They have free wifi. No store /concession which they could really use BUT they are only 4 minutes to town. They are also contacted to a public beach but they are nicely separated but also easily walkable or swimmable to both of you want to use the other area too. All in all it is a nice spot to camp for a weekend with friends!

There were no signs to the office and no signs to know where the walk in sites were. The staff didn't seem too knowledgeable either and gave us extremely vague directions to the walk in site. We struggled to find it. There aren't enough toilets around the campsite so be prepared to walk really far if you're in a walk in site. Otherwise the campsite was nice. It's really close to the lake with a nice grass area to relax.

Showed up to the site at around 4 to find our tent site with people already in it. With 1 open spot we took it and setup. The people who booked that site then show up. Never experienced such disorganization and cluelessness at a campsite. Park "wardens" which were just teenage kids , show up and tell us that we have to move or leave. Completely disregarding the other campers because they were a family having a fire. Place is a joke.

The camping sites are pretty inconvenient, you can't park in them. The only bathrooms are not close to the camping sites and down quite a large hill, so it's a bit of a pain to have to walk down and up the hill every time you need to go to the washroom or fill up your water.

A great campsite, lots of trees and fairly big sites. Lake access, nice beach, good fishing. Well looked after, close to town. Only complaint was people partying as late as 1am. Please enforce quiet hours. Wifi spotty. Will return.
