Very Racist experience coming here. The older white woman likes to tell security anyone of colour is stealing. The security here will also force themselves upon you (male or female) pushing you and grabbing your bags forcefully. Avoid this location at all costs. We had delightful experience shopping at marpole safeway.

we bought meat on Sunday at this Safeway. On Monday, when my wife opened it, we realized it was spoiled. She went to another Safeway to buy more meat, and she waited for me so I could come and ask for a refund.
Today, Tuesday, we found out that the meat from the second Safeway is also spoiled. So I went to both stores to report the issue. At one store, they returned my money right away. But here, they are telling me I need to come back tomorrow to speak with the meat department manager because he is not here today.
I don’t think that’s fair or acceptable. At one Safeway they refunded me immediately, and here I’m being asked to return another day. And how is it possible that meat from two different Safeway locations is spoiled? What is going on with Safeway’s quality control?
This is very concerning. I just want my money refunded and the issue properly addressed, please.

Great store, hard to find staff at times.
Deli area in the front always closes pretty early, they can get pretty lazy

Gross chinese food.
Noodles dry, rice mushy. Overpriced. Threw it away.
What a waste of $20 for 1 plate.

Be warned their display cakes are NOT what you'll actually receive. We ordered the beautiful winnie the pooh cake and picked up a cake with frosting slapped on like I could've done at home with a spoon and none of the intricate details or colors. The side was even completely white instead of the nice gradient blue in the display. The manager discounted the cake due to their false advertising but unfortunately we still have to share this amateur cake with our guests.

Purchased steak and the meat was not fresh.

Went today to buy 2 packs of steaks. Something smelled off when I was seasoning them. I continued to cook them and the first bite I knew something was really off. I wish Safeway would have integrity to not sell meat near life's end and package it as fresh. I will never goto Safeway again. I never had this issue from steaks before from any major grocer. I rarely give negative reviews but I just had to to protect other shoppers. I feel bad as this elderly couple bought same steaks as I was.
