October 2023 by No MSG No Garlic Foodie
Since we were already staying at Ruby Lake Resort, it made sense to eat there as well. We found out that each dish is made to order which means special requests for no garlic would not be a problem. The outside seating was kind of magical with the view of the lake, the bridge to the cabins, and the garden. The home made focaccia bread was awesome, and we've tried to grill it at home the same way so far with no success. Our wait person got the special of the day wrong, so I ended up with grilled salmon which I would never have ordered. I particularly liked their roasted vegetables and potatoes, very tasty. We ate there two nights in a row. The first night's dessert was extremely disappointing because it was just store-bought ice-cream. The second night, they offered home made fruit crumble which was better. We will dine here again for sure. But the room was not very clean at all. The floor was very dusty when we first arrived, the box spring looked like it was never vacuumed.

Came across Ruby Lake randomly last year and was determined to come back. A friend suggested Ruby Lake resort and I am so happy we chose to stay here. First of all, the lake itself is a gem. Resort guest dock access is a very convenient feature. The resort itself is better than expected - very spacious, quiet, with lots of little touches throughout. Our tent was clean, warm, and had a nice view of the forest. I appreciated having a real bathroom and showers, and how clean they were considering they're in a forest. The kitchen was also very handy - the ability to use the fridge, the kettle and the sink took the "ugh" out of the camping experience. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The Trattoria restaurant was a life saver and helped alleviate the need to be 100% ready with food for multiple days - the food there was delicious and fresh. We are already thinking of coming back to Ruby Lake Resort next year.

I can't express how much this place means to us!My Husband and I got married here July 27th, 2023 and it was the best damn wedding venue we could have ever asked for! Not only is this place so breath taking, it had everything we could have wanted. We are both big campers, big in outdoors and love nature so we needed a place that could reflect who we are as a couple. THIS WAS IT! I knew it was when I came back in September 2022 that it would be our dream venue. Bryony your were wonderful! Very helpful and super sweet. There were a few hiccups of course but over all everything worked out and everyone was happy. I couldn't recommend this place more to anyone! THE FOOD!!!! the food is sooo good! the quality and flavour everything about the food. All my guest could not stop raving about the food. My husband and I wish we got to eat more of it but the nerves were through the roof. Our group was probably the most rowdy and if your group is like that, I recommend making sure you book out the whole place for two nights!! make sure you do this as other guests on your venue isn't the best idea. It is well worth the buy out fee!To the owners we are so thankful for allowing us to have our special day on your gorgeous property and allowing us to have pretty much full access! We had such a great time and to all the future brides and grooms out there, consider this gorgeous place as our venue!

Loved it! A great little glamping option or they have full service options. The resort is quirky and fun, cabins were clean and comfortable. Facilities were clean, we loved it. Great proximity to the lake, fun to wander around. We'll be back!Rooms: Clean and comfortableNearby activities: Lots of options to rent for the lake.

Nice location to the lake. The designated dock for guests was very crowded though. Bed very uncomfortable. The tents get so hot in the sun, would be nice to have a fan. Enjoyed the deck in front of the tents. Nice bathrooms.

The Canadian Pacific Northwest near Vancouver...breathtaking.Our 17-day road trip brought us here. The small, King-bed basic cabin is OK. Showers and washrooms are separate -- true rustic clamping.Ah, yet then comes their restaurant. SUPERB Italian. My wife had steelhead trout while smoked boar sausage-pasta graced my plate. Now, we come from NYC, with hundreds of multi-star ratings. This stands tall right with them!If you're in this part of the planet...it's a must.

It is amazing but the only downside is that there is not much electricity and you have to walk almost 100 meters for the public bathroom.Still great spot for vacationFood & drinks: The foods good at the restaurant just a bit expensive

The best place to stay at the Sunshine Coast either at the safari tents, the cool wooden cabins or hotel style rooms! It has amazing scenery for all nature lovers. Their restaurant La Trattoria is super cozy, with lovely views and the food is spectacular! This is a wonderful family operated business. If you go to the Sunshine Coast between Sechelt and Egmont, you have to go. IMPORTANT: Have to make reservations for advance for the restaurant.

Overpriced for a poor location, and poor amenities.1 blanket provided for basically sleeping outside. Definitely have a chest cold now from sleeping 1 night...Oh and the lights outside our cabin didnt work, our patio coffeetable was staged with a cute candle centerpiece but the candle was burnt down to nothing..In summary, I do not recommend staying here anytime, save the money and pitch a tent...

Ruby lake resort is incredible , it is such a magical little get away . Very family friendly or a great little romantic escape. The food at the la trattoria is so scrumptious and fresh. A proper Italian experience with fresh burrata flown in from Puglia. The pastas are so yummy ! The cocktails are so pretty and unique , you can have dinner in a gorgeous garden patio setting . I would highly recommend escaping to ruby lake for a weekend. 10/10 what a magical place

We took our staff to Ruby Lake Resort to celebrate a big company milestone and our expectations were exceded on every level. Starting from the booking and all the details leading up to our stay, the team were attentive to our every question. They helped us plan a great itinerary and even put us in touch with an amazing eco adventure company for a team activity. The cabins and setting at Ruby Lake are lovely, clean and very comfortable. Aldo and all of his staff take so much pride in ensuring guests have a great stay and they were always close by when we needed them. Without a doubt the highlight(s) were the world class meals prepared by Aldo and his team and served by Tanya and her restaurant staff. We were blown away by every dish, most of which focused on local ingrediants and many fresh items coming directly from Aldo's gardens. We highly recommend Ruby Lake Resort and we will certainly be back again soon!

This place is utterly magical! There are all kinds of wildlife everywhere, there's a lake lagoon mountains rapids everything right there, the food is great, the staff and family were really helpful, we just had a great time up there. They have all kinds of awesome little spots like gazebos hidden all over, the sunsets on the lake were incredible! The kids loved it, they got to see peacocks and painted turtles and we loved the family tents. The stars at night are gorgeous that far from the city too. 10/10 recommend staying here, its one of those special places.???.

The staff and the family who runs the resort are always welcoming and super accommodating! Well, we saw the great reviews online. Lake was very clean, amenities were great and setup was good, but I would never go back there again. We were told at check-in quiet time was at 11 and only got earlier and earlier each night. We stayed at the cottages which was very musty and there was no fan in the bathroom. Toilet paper stock was extremely low and staff couldn’t find it. The coffee maker and tv were not working (checked plugs and everything). Owner/manager was not very friendly. Complained about kids being loud before 9 pm. If they didn’t want kids to play around, they shouldn’t be advertising as a family “resort.” For the amount we paid, we shouldn’t have been getting grief for our more than reasonable behaviour; we could have stayed at a more superior resort or facility.
