Absolutely terrible customer service. I am closing my account & going back to TD. My legal name is Charles, but I use Chuck in everything, including my signature which is very legible. I mentioned that when I opened the account at the Maple Ridge branch & I was assured Chuck would be added in the notes to prevent any issues. It wasn't added & has created issues. There have been issues with customer service since I opened the account, but the final straw was after having 4 previous bonus cheques from my work deposited without a hold on funds & the fact my employer has been on the account from day one & normally are direct deposited, the person in charge on Saturday October 26th decided that the 4 previous cheques should not have been released without a hold & even though each cheque went through without issue put a hold on the funds for 5 business days. I knew there was going to be an issue as when I arrived at the branch a man was irate after she refused to release a certified cheque from another bank even though he had an account with Scotiabank in Maple Ridge & had called in before arriving. I am tired of being treated like a number. I miss the days of having a relationship with your bank.

I had bad experience today with the woman who is manager!
I am owner of construction company and alway purchase some materials of china!
After 2 hours waiting she told me you could not transfer money!
She was not friendly and I’ll never ever go back to this branch , I’ll decide to transfer my account to another bank where respect to customer especially immigrant customers!!!!

Very sad to leave this review as this used to be the best scotiabank branch. I needed my cheque verfied from a reputable comapany, and I needed the hold removed so I can pay my bills. I have always had holds removed for these circumstances as I need to pay bills, but for some reason the manager could not release my payroll cheque as he did not "trust me enough" and has it on hold now for 5 business days. Given my long history with scotiabank, multiple accounts, and loans I am sad to say I will now close my account. If they cant trust their 7-10 year customers with a simple payroll cheque than they should not be trusted earning your business. This comes after a major delay and system failure in direct deposit payments. After new management this branch has failed. Bring back the 2020 TEAM.

I had a rather good experience at this bank! Im younger and this is my first bank and card I’ve had so I’m new too this anyways, I had some leftover change and wanted to exchange it for cash I came in rather close to closing time a wonderful lady called Miriam told me that I had overstuffed my change and she helped me re organize the rolls efficiently and kindly reassuring me that it was no problem and an easy fix and overall gave wonderful customer service stayed a few minutes after closing to help me! She’s what a workplace needs.

I had a terrible experience at this branch due to a significant error made by the staff, which messed up my account. When I tried to address the issue, neither the branch manager Michael nor his assistant Parm took responsibility. They were both rude and didn't even apologize for their mistake. Highly disappointed with the service

This bank has employees that are outstanding and do way over board with there work load, they are polite, honest, helpful, trustworthy, reliable, cheerful bunch I'm grateful to have a bank sp friendly I can depend on thank you ?

My experiences with Scotia have been about as bad as possible. They completely screwed up my mortgage application processes causing me to lose the units I was interested in, and eventually have to purchase something I wasn't super happy about.I have attempted to deal with multiple "investment advisors" and I'm not sure what their actual job is but they simply refuse to communicate. They tell you they will do something and then do not do it. They do not respond to emails or calls.They do not actually run Scotia iTrade, so if you have money in there, they cannot help you at the branch. You have to wait 5-6 hours on hold to speak to a rep and they usually can't help you because they don't have access to your regular accounts, only your iTrade accounts.I've got three years left on my mortgage and I'm going back to Royal or TD.Please do yourself a favor and stay away from Scotia.

My recent experience prompted me to write my first ever review. Been banking at this branch for 26 years, never had any problems, now they putting holds on checks from the same branch!. Not only that. Put in a check and mysteriously the computer read it wrong and the person working the till also can’t read a check correctly when it’s clear as day. Mistakes happen but I feel this is more of a reflection of the downhill spiral this bank is facing or maybe just stong evidence of idiocracy. Time to close all accounts here.
