I wanted to thank the two young men working two days ago at Vancity Maple Ridge .The young man stopped my insurance payment from bouncing and a big fine of forty dollars .My GST on January 3rd.2025 will now cover what I owed without it bouncing .I have a heart problem that was avoided by their kindness .Thank you from the bottom of heart for all your help .I really do miss Page who retired from Vancity .You guys are a great bunch of people ,a good team .

Had a cheque and asked it to specifically be deposited into my chequing account but when I got home I realized the teller deposited into my line of credit so I can't use the funds. There was a reason I asked for it to be put into my chequing. Wish instructions would be followed better as I was clear and needed the funds.

It was the worst experience I’ve had in my entire life, the assistant branch manager refused to accept my government issued ID and wants me to go to a different government office to have them verify it and attach a letter. I think my look has everything to do with the rejection. Seriously..

Had a horrible experience in this branch a few months ago.Had a big direct deposit (branch to branch) come into my account. Went in to withdraw the funds or wanted an easy option on how to move them to my primary RBC account. Got asked for my ID, which is completely understandable. Then the teller wanted to call the sender of the funds to ensure they were deposited correctly to my account and it wasn't an error. But the funds were in my account! No matter where they came from and there was no hold on them either. The way it was being investigated was so demeaning and made me look guilty. Being spoken to in a loud volume while everyone around could hear, made me look like a fraud/thief, while withdrawing funds from my own account!!!The teller then called the sender and was immediately confirmed that the transfer was indeed legit, but she then went on to tell the sender what I was going to do with those funds. Isn't that confidential information and only pertains to me? What I do or do not do with my money should be my business and should not be made public knowledge. Not respecting your clients and not respecting your clients' privacy in financial sector is a big blunder.I'm so happy I'm with RBC from the beginning and have all my financial dealings with them. Experiences like these show that no matter how much you try and endorse and advertise diversity, community contributions, helping local businesses, etc, but you are as good as how you treat your clients. As a POC being humiliated in a public setting by a prejudiced caucasian teller wasn't an experience I would wish for anyone. The sorry I got at the end from her couldn't be more superficial.Train your staff better and improve your protocols to respect privacy of your clients.

Just another credit union acting like a bank stealing money from people who dont have any. Bunch of thieves like everywhere else. Trust nothing they tell you their goal is to ensure they get every penny.

There's a long boring back story to this review that I've deleted to say that I had an exceptional experience at Vancity in Maple Ridge.Without an appointment, without me being a member, and with an unusual, frustrating circumstance involving an Estate account at a different credit union I walked into the branch and was served courteously and promptly.Then I was treated to the exquisite pleasure of having Jasmin Toh help me with some documentation that I needed. Her smile, friendliness, kindness, thoroughness and efficiency were a gift.It was a job that both Prospera and Envision wouldn't/couldn't help me with.I was extremely impressed with the experience I had at Vancity and all the staff that assisted me to the point that I wish I banked there.Thanks, everyone!

If you are wise, please do not bank here. They will nickel and dime you until you are in a negative balance no matter what they tell you. I went here initially with a surplus in my account. The first time, I was charged -$60+. I paid that off and was convinced by a teller that she would open an account with no charge. 3+ years later, I look into it and I'm -$16+.Vancity made 1/2 a billion dollars last year. It poses as a community friendly bank. Do not be fooled.

I rarely give reviews because I am fairly busy, but the exquisite experience I received at VanCity yesterday needs to be recognized. I have never had an experience like this at a bank (not even my own bank). I am not a member of VanCity, but the "white glove" service I received was second to none. I went into the branch to certify funds, Hiromi treated me like gold (even though I am not a member). She was professional and efficient with her service. She even gave me her card just in case my bank needed to verify the funds over the phone with her. It was a great experience and it is something I value. The highest level of customer service I have received.

Why are there no branch phone numbers listed on the web. Very frustrating to have to call a central number.
