This campground was great! The scenery is beautiful, and its close proximity to town made everything convenient. Lois and John were incredibly accommodating, and the check-in process was smooth and easy. We enjoyed exploring the tide pools and watching the seals, and the beach was great for swimming. The outdoor shower was a bonus. Some reviews mention the ferry traffic due to its location next to the active pass, but personally I think it adds to the charm of the gulf islands and this campground. Looking forward to staying here again

Hands down an unforgettable experience. My friends, husband our pups and I had the most exquisite time. Selfishly I don’t want to over share because it’s a hidden gem I hope never to lose our annual spot. Lois, the grounds manager is absolutely amazing, quick to respond and so helpful. We LOVE it here, the tranquil feeling to the private sites, the well kept grounds and the beautiful paths throughout, there is a little something for everyone. Highly recommend for those who want to change up their camping experience. Looking forward to next years memories! Thank you so much
Nearby activities: Beachside beauty with a nice covered area to enjoy watching the passing ferry’s. The campsite is so beautiful. There is an open field area for games and the sites are nicely tucked so there aren’t people one on the other. The paths are clearly marked and the area is one in a million.
Walkability: There are beautiful trails to walk or hike throughout the property.
Noteworthy details: The property is tranquil, beautifully kept and well maintained. A place to be at peace with the surrounding beauty of nature while also enjoying the company of friends and family. We loved having our pups with us who also loved the space and view.

Would highly recommend! My stay was seamless and my campsite was wonderful: views of the ocean, quite private, and quiet (with the exception of the ferry horn until the last ferry but I didn’t find that bothersome).
I biked to Mayne and they were accommodating in allowing me to leave some of my things packed up in a common area after checkout during the day while I toured around the island.

PROS
-Beautiful View
-Not too far from Ferry & near shops
CONS
-Ferry whistle noise is LOUD from early to late.
-Camping sites are pretty uneven with not much direction
-Camping sites are a bit expensive per person
-Camping amenities are few
My advice would be to day trip Mayne and then head to a different island.

Lol no music but I'm currently sitting in my tent listening to "ring of fire" from across the campground. Expensive per person costs for few amenities. Nice spot with seals 🦭

Amazing location close to a super cute area on mayne and the ferry terminal. Seeing the seals was magical and the view from the campground is stunning. Owners were super nice and helpful! Worth the extra cost, especially because of the sink and beautiful outdoor shower with hot water!

What a great place for bycicle camping. 25.00 per night and close to amenities and things to do. Would love to go again.

The island only has one campground with limited space. But the island itself is beautiful

Beautiful location but fully booked and staff was not helpful or friendly at all! I recently visited 5 gulf islands and mayne was by far the most unfriendly. A bunch of old entitled people just wanting you off their island. Think they own the world and no place for the younger generation. Very disappointing and feeling unwelcome.i will never return.

A beautiful location. The owner (Lois) will help find the best camping spot on her property for your needs. We were given a beautiful, quiet forest glade.A bit of a walk from most campsites to the outhouses, but the walks are very pretty. There is also a 1.5km walk around the property which is very pretty through a cedar forest.

Camping was just wonderful. It is a beautiful property with access to the bay for paddling. It felt so private and quiet the whole time. Loved the rule of not playing music! My ocean view topped it off. A hidden treasure for campers to explore Mayne.Note: You park and walk into the sites on a trail so mobility is an important consideration. Wheelbarrows are provided to bring your gear in.Safety: The site felt secluded in the best ways. Simple & walkable grounds.

I’ve camped at many private and public campgrounds, Mayne Island will always be my favourite. Easy check in and even the sites that aren't on the waterfront are very close to the water. The property is also very well maintained. Look forward to coming back soon!
