I buy 3 pairs of slip resistant work shoes here a year. Two of the pairs were not slip resistant, even though they claim to be. I didn't know it until I wore them to work and almost fell after someone mopped the floor. I didn't take them back or try to get a refund because I had already worn them. This has happened twice. I went today to buy a new pair and told the employee about the issue with the other two pairs and asked if this happens again, is there anything they can do, because I don't know they are defective until I have worn them and they are very expensive. He said the owner would probably let them be returned in this case, so he called the owner over and he explained the issue and she says that she won't take them back, she can't guarantee that they will be slip resistant. I pointed out that they say they are advertised as "work safe, slip resistant shoes" she is selling them, so if they aren't actually slip resistant then she should honour that. She told me she won't, it's not her fault if they aren't slip resistant. Super unhelpful and clearly doesn't care about loyal customers.

Customer service is absolutely lacking here! Vacuuming is more important then service training is definitely needed had to wait 10 days for an order coming from metrotown when I was told 5 business days won't be back

Don’t buy Vessi shoes there. Staff refused exchange 3 weeks after purchase, when sole became unglued. Forced to complex process at Vessi. Weeks to respond. Different policy for other shoes. Staff not helpful.

Horrible customer service and return policies. The staff are so rude but sadly I will have to go back as I was issued a credit for shoes I purchased and returned unworn less than 24 hours later. Beware if your item is on sale you don’t get your money back if you are not satisfied. Sadly this information is not disclosed upon purchase.

My daughter & I were looking for a comfortable pair of walking shoes, as she is going to Europe for a month. We found a pair of Vessi shoes that my daughter absolutely loved. The employee rang in the sale but there was another woman behind the counter the whole time we were in the store. She never acknowledged us, said hello, welcome, offered help, thank you or anything else. I thanked the sales person & asked her if the ignorant lady behind the counter was the owner? It was indeed the owner of the store, so I said thank you to this lady as well. Still nothing? So I said to her “it’s really too bad, that the owner of such a nice store, doesn’t acknowledge their patrons?” My daughter is happy with her purchase but because of this transaction, I will never patron the store again.

A Step Aged Footwear in Nanaimo deserves a solid 5 stars! Their excellent service and wide selection of brown shoes saved the day before a wedding. Despite the time crunch, the staff remained patient and helped my girlfriend find the perfect pair. We were impressed by the quality and variety of options available. The store's ambiance was welcoming, and the staff's knowledge and professionalism were top-notch. A Step Aged Footwear is a hidden gem in Nanaimo for anyone in need of stylish and reliable footwear. Highly recommended!
