“Can't say enough great things about this place! There's so many cool things on offer for crazy good prices, and the staff are friendly and always seem like they're having fun. It's a regular stop for when I go thrift shopping, and I find something cool just about every time”
“The Hospice Shoppe's volunteer staff are great, and always a pleasure to chat with in passing. And their big store on Bowen behind the Country Grocer has very good setups.Watch for discount days! When I lived nearby, I tried to drop in at least once a week for their excellent deals, and I tried to give back by donating.”
“Went to the thrift store today to look for a top for a Christmas luncheon tomorrow and they had lots of items. They were very friendly and I was very happy with the items I purchased. I even got a little stuffed animal for my 12-year-old pup”
“This thrift store is already such a special place, but what really sets it apart is their manager, Melissa. She is outstanding—always kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in creating the best experience for everyone who comes in. You can see her heart and hard work in every corner of the store.
Melissa just started a bridal boutique upstairs, and it is absolutely amazing. Brides on a budget—or honestly brides in general—should go take a look. The selection is beautiful, unique, and truly feels curated with so much care. There are actual hidden gems up there that you wouldn’t expect to find, and it makes the whole place feel even more special.
Melissa has built something that feels more than just a store—it’s a community space, filled with warmth and incredible finds. If you haven’t been yet, this is your sign to go.”
“I do not often get to the other side of town to visit VV, but rarely miss an opportunity to go when I do! I find the prices hit and miss these days, often things are well used but priced in the same range they would be purchased new. Still, If you are looking for something specific and random, there's usually a chance you'll find it. I love the store for this reason. The staff are generally helpful, and the store is kept clean despite being pretty overrun daily! I also love that they consistently take donations all day long, and they are quick to get them in the store and make them available. I very much miss the days when it was possible to try clothing on. There are no change rooms since the pandemic, but they have at least changed the policy to allow returns for credit within a week with a receipt. This doesn't motivate me to buy clothing, since I am not often in town to return clothes that I couldn't try on in the store. However, it is rare to go and leave empty handed. In the last 6 months, I have located a lid for a pot, oven mitts, glassware, a coffee cup, a pie maker, a towel to repair a robe, a sign for over the dog door (les woof!), a small stool, a fake plant in a cup, and some random clothing items. Where else could you find all of this stuff?!”
“A lovely, unique place worth stopping by! Deny is such a warm, positive presence- his genuine welcoming nature is maybe the best treat of all when you step inside. Great deals on quirky knick knacks, electronics, and clothing. All proceeds are donated as well; this store is truly a labour of Deny's love for the community. Highly recommend!”
