I was very impressed the first time and had to pay a second visit. We loved their hot chocolate - their blend is unique and updates each time we visit. $7 a cup - it’s bold with flavour and pure chocolate decadence but never sweet or sickly. The owner was friendly and approachable. We always have a great time chatting with her! We always buy a few chocolates home as well - impressive collection that you can’t find anywhere! Highly recommended and you won’t regret it! Support our fabulous local shops!

I visited this craft chocolate store today as I’m always looking for high quality chocolate. When I entered, I could smell the scent of chocolate- not sweet, sugary, milk chocolate candy type of chocolate. The owner of the store was very welcoming, friendly and enjoyed answering all of my questions about chocolate; I really appreciated her taking the time to do so. There is a wide variety of chocolate here and I also discovered that she had tree nut and peanut free chocolate as well! That was very exciting as there’s no other place I can think of that has nut free chocolate of this quality in Vancouver. The only other place I know of is in North Vancouver. As I was leaving, a couple came in and purchased a large number of chocolate bars so they look like big fans. High quality chocolate is pricey, so you have to like it to pay that much. Having said that, the price is comparable to other high quality chocolate companies. Glad to have found this gem.

I found out about this business on Eventbrite and joined them for their Basic Principles of Chocolate Making class. They share the same space as Origins Chocolate Bar. The chocolate making class was so fun! You're able to share with a partner to save costs, and in my opinion it was better to share so we could share the labour! At the start of the class, owner of Cocoaro and chocolatier Margaret takes you through the history and origins of chocolate. After sorting some cacao beans for roasting, she then guides you through tasting various different two-ingredient 70% cacao chocolates. It was very interesting to taste how different chocolate tastes when the beans simply come from different countries. After our beans finished roasting, we got to work. My partner and I took turns grinding our 20 cacao beans into a paste with a mortar and pestle. It took a lot of elbow grease and time to start getting our beans shiny! Once the natural butters were coming out, we added some cane sugar. The end product is a very gritty chocolate, but it is so delicious. I really liked the texture of it actually. Only two ingredients! After the class, everyone got 10% all of the chocolates in store.

I made a long-distance (from Montreal) order for a local delivery and I have only good things to say about this commerce. The proprietor goes above and beyond in her service to her clientele.
I highly recommend.

Amazing little chocolate shop. Tons of different chocolate bars as well as drinking chocolate. Shop also smells amazing since they cook chocolate in the back half of it.

Such a cute chocolate shop! The owner is very personable, creative and puts a lot of thought into each product. Plus each chocolate bar comes with a piece of paper and origami instructions. Very cool!

Delicious & superb quality chocolate. I like a small piece of dark chocolate at night and the Camino Verde Ecuador 90% is the perfect little bite. Because of the high quality, just a little bite is all that’s needed. I love the packaging and the extra thought & care I noticed after opening 😉 I love being excited about supporting local, small batch, ethical businesses and I hope this place continues to grow & thrive.

I can’t recall eating better chocolate before. Tasted and purchased three different single origin chocolates, all 70%. Complexity of flavour and length of finish was particularly impressive.
