My mother has been a loyal customer to this bank for over 20 years. Her chequing account has been locked for close to a week now. She's unable to withdraw money, or pay any bills. No explanation, no support. This has caused late bill payments which affect her credit score. As her daughter, I called a teller who has seen me in person at the branch and asked for explanation. He cared less and was super unhelpful. The bank hours are inconvenient, for people who work full time 9-5 and can't make it to the branch. I will be making sure my mother closes her account here. BLUESHORE MUST GIVE A EXPLANATION TO A LOYAL CUSTOMER THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

Dealing with estate issues recently. Initially all was well; "carry on with how you're doing it" we were told then all of a sudden the door slams shut. No direction or warning. A nice enough fellow acting as the "middle man" to their estates department, that will not speak or communicate directly with the executors, left fielding questions and checking for answers as the only guy we can apparently communicate with. Painfully clear with every question and reasonable request that he won't or maybe can't answer any questions without checking first. Following along with their direction on how to get deceased's bills paid and obligations covered and the door slams again...."everything is on hold now that the account is in the process of being closed". After decades with North Shore Credit Union and with Blueshore since their name change Mom and Dad would roll over in their graves with respect to how far service has slipped. We'll definitely be spreading the word.

BS Financial is BS....Our mortgage came due at the end of March 2023. We were contacted less than 10 business days before it lapsed We called just a week prior to our renewal - yes our fault as well for not having our own reminder in place - after having all our accounts with BSF the lender did not look remorseful by not contacting us at least 90 days prior, or at least try to offer us a good % rate for the next 3 years until the market interest rates stabilize. After 10 painful years, we decided to take our business with TD, now that they offer mortgages on the NS leased land. YES, painful as you do not get any customer service or any offers on financial deals at all.

Our mortgage came due on March 29, 2023 and we were only called 10 business days before to make an appointment. We never received any paper work with an "offer" I honestly thought our mortgage was delayed 3 months as we had to take payment relief durning Covid. Note, I do take full responsibility for not being aware of the renewal date. The day we had the appointment (4.5 business days before renewal) the lender just sat back with a "smart" look and said "what term can we sign you up for?" He didn't ask us about "Our" needs, Our goals? We asked ... well what are you offering? The rates he gave us compared to other Financial Institutions was higher!!We advised that our mortgage broker gave us a couple rates from the TD that she was able to secure that day for another client When we gave those numbers to the lender he was not able to make a decision nor his Supervisor. After waiting until the next day ... "Upstairs" wouldn't even budge from the rates offered the day before!!! No negotiation!!!We have been with BS Financial for 9 years and have never felt like we were treated well. I'm not even sure why we stayed. I guess if you don't have a Million dollar mortgage with them then you're not in their "affluent" category Word of advise. Shop around for rates and other services offered by other Financial Institutions. It's your life! Your retirement! The banks don't care about you. You are just a number!!! The marketing team hit the nail on the head when they changed the name from North Shore Credit Union to BS Financial BS Financial & their so called Financial Spas are a bunch of BS!!!! All talk no action...I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this Financial Institution

Customer service is lacking when it comes to potential new clients. Walked into two different branches to open an account only to be told I need to book an appointment in advance, even though there were no other customers in sight and staff did not appear busy.

Don't invest your money with BlueShore Financial unless you have a lot of it. They are prejudice against the average earner. Had my money invested at Park Royal branch for over 5 years only to be arbitrarily given to a 'newbie' advisor instead of the seasoned one I had been working with, seems like my investments were no longer sufficient to garner her attention. I also lost over $4000 as the 'newbie adviser' dropped the ball and did not grace me with the standard customer service call to refinance my mortgage 3 months prior to maturity. I ended paying an additional 1% interest on my 5 year mortgage. It also took me over 2 weeks to get someone to return my phone calls when my mortgage was actually up for renewal. Poor customer service, unless you're wealthy, then they fall over their feet for you. Shame on you Blue Shore

Blueshore treated me well until they started charging me absurd amounts for my accounts and refunding my insurance payments. They're also terrible at clearing Checks even after you call them and ask for it to be cleared 3 times. To add to that they changed my checking and savings accounts to different options, I only received word from them on this 2 weeks after they changed it. This bank is extremely frustrating and to make a long story short im switching banks due to years of inconveniences and failure to inform me of critical changes made to my accounts.

Best financial services anywhere. John Cindric our financial advisor is so friendly. We go to talk over our investments and everything gets updated and looked after. Never been to a bank where they treat the client with as much respect. Such a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone at ParkGate branch or Lonsdale main branch are very attentive and friendly. The concierge goes out of their way to make sure you're looked after. Bringing you a beverage as well. Banking was never so easy.

The toxic credit union culture...., I strongly discourage anyone from opening account at this Credit Union. Deceptively promote things then starting to tweak words around to waste your time. In the end, the power is mostly in their hand due to their leverage of FICOM discriminatory policy. It is okay, you wont ever get a penny from me and I do tell newcomers to stay away from you.

Incompetent. Here is an email to me from the CEO from 2009: I understand that you have been provided with some incorrect information in the past regarding how mortgage penalties are calculated, but that this has since been explained and cleared up. You also brought to our attention on December 31, 2010 an error regarding an incorrectly calculated mortgage penalty on December 7, 2010. We confirmed at that time that it was in fact due to employee error and the correction was made that day. This is an extremely rare occurrence and I apologize. Because of these mistakes and your concern, an in-depth review of our records has been focused on and completed with regard to all the transactions and history in question and we can see no further errors that occurred during the time that the mortgage was with North Shore Credit Union. Email from branch manager today (9 years later) after I pursued the issue for many years: We have confirmed that there was an error on our part and we do owe you the difference between what as charged on mortgage #0xxx payout and what should have been charged which was the three months interest. We can confirm that you were charged a penalty of $4340 on the day the mortgage was paid out. The three months of interest penalty should have been $1109.46 which means that we owe you $3230.67.
