Atrociously poor customer service from MEC leadership with absolutely no desire to make a reasonable decision to assist a customer. Staff had arrogant attitudes especially from the general manager Grayden and his floor staff Lucas. Shoulder shrugs and condescending tones with a matter of fact “I’m not willing to help you”. I held a receipt for $1,000 in purchases from the day before (at the MEC warehouse sale) and they refused to make a $5 decision to assist me with a missing part from my purchase. Just cutting me off mid sentence and repeating “all sales final”. Frustratingly rude and robotic. The item I purchased with a simple missing handle was in stock and on clearance at this location as well. They refused to provide the $5 missing handle from their inventory.

North Van MEC has a special vibe. Great location with adjacent parking. All on the ground floor. Amazing staff.

Went in to look at hiking boots and Ay-Ay—Ron was fantastic.He was super knowledgeable, kind, and found me the PERFECT boots.He even taught me a new way to tie my hiking boots. Genius.I always really appreciate when sales people aren’t pushy, but rather take the time to find out exactly what I need and help me find that - Aaron did just that.Very grateful.Thanks for the fabulous experience. I’m so excited to try out my new boots.

Wanna give a shout out to Emily in the bike repair area. Definitely went above and beyond today to help my fiancee and I with her new bike. You could tell she was someone that loves bikes and it rubbed off on us a bit. Great store, fair prices and as above, fantastic staff! Thanks again Emily.

The WORST customer service among outdoor stores:1. You can never reach a customer representative , even after calling for 3hour+2. You cannot do in store pick up order even when store is full of it and it claims next business day pick up. Completely joke and staff there is like spoked deers on highway knowing nothing about they need to do or how to get them out of this situation.3. Cancellation of an order that is never picked up takes 3-5 weeks to refund. Is Mec still in Stone Age?ANY other outdoor stores have better service than MEC and probably are cheaper. I see no point shopping in this chain

tried on 8 different hiking boots .The gal was able to find my size.She brought me size.My Reply : I have these for numerous decades and I know my size is 6 or 6.5,never a 7 .I guess was frustrated because she tried

We ordered an item for in store pickup that was in stock at this location. Item said it would be ready the next day. A week later it was still being shipped and it still wasn't ready. We went to the store to see what was happening and there was a floor full of the item I wanted. We went to customer service and asked to pickup right now as it was in stock the whole time. They would not allow this. We still had to wait for the shipped item to arrive at the store. Complete waste of time and terrible customer service. Don't want to come back.

This particular location has exceptional customer service with ample staff (unlike the downtown location). However I’m very disappointed with how MEC’s pricing has joined all the other overpriced outdoor gear stores. The MEC gear used to be very reasonably priced for good quality.

Yesterday I was in the store looking for some advice and gear for ski touring. I was given excellent attention and advice from a knowledgeable person that actually utilizes the products. His name is Steven, he was fantastic and after a few bad experiences of being talk down to elsewhere because I wasn’t experienced enough, I was so grateful for the time and attention I received!Thank you Steven.

Website details for items in stock are not accurate, item was not there when I got to the store. Staff do not pick the phones so you can't confirm beforehand.Poorly organized store. The MEC branded items are all in the front and are equally or more expensive than the brand name items. No price tags on the items I was looking at.

Literally do not shop here, order from Altitude Sports instead. Spent an hour at the store waiting for a pick up in store order and they lost my package. Had to call the service center myself and now have to wait 6 weeks for a refund.

Only come here if you know exactly what you want. The staff are not helpful at all. If you ask about any product, they will send you to the website to look it up yourself.Always check the right sizing.I got a pair of shoes after many troubles, and was given two different-size shoes in the correct box. After coming to try to find the appropriate shoes, I was told to go find them myself with 5 staff watching and standing there.Worst customer service of any store I have visited.

Called this place 6 times in two hours on Dec 2 with nobody picking up. I drive over and five staff are hanging out at the register gabbing away. The place is empty. I ask about a ski listed on the website as low stock and they are just totally lost on how to investigate this subject. Eventually we just walk over to look and find a bunch of unmounted skis. I left without buying anything
