Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. My spouse was going into the hospital for Cancer Surgery. We went to the Royal Bank on Lynn Valley Road and requested to see someone so my spouse could add me to the bank accounts. We were told that no one could help us. I explained to the female teller that my partner was going in for major surgery and we asked to speak with the manager. We were told there was no one that could help us. I explained to her that given he was going in for surgery tomorrow morning, this was the only chance we had to add me to the accounts. She looked at me and said everyone is too busy. Too busy for us to sign a form to add me to the accounts? The teller offered an appointment for two days away. I again explained to her that he was in for surgery at 5am the next day and we didn’t know when he’d be capable of coming back into the bank. We again asked to speak to the manager and were told he couldn’t help us and was offered another appointment time four days after his surgery. I asked if the woman didn’t listen to a word I said and she offered another appointment time. Sooo, after his Cancer surgery he was not able to leave the house and he passed away one week after the surgery due to other complications. Thanks Royal Bank for being considerate, helpful, and compassionate. I will assume you can hear the sarcasm in the sentence. Once the estate is settled, I will be removing every penny from the Royal Bank and will never in my lifetime use their banking services.

Do not book anything financial with Maria D. at this branch! She does not explain things thoroughly, does not listen to you when you speak. I had to tell her FOUR separate times that a piece of contact information on my file was out of date. She kept trying to pressure me to sign investment paperwork without reading it first, literally INTERRUPTING me to tap her pen repeatedly on the signature line and saying “You can sign now. Sign here. Sign this” and was also dishonest about the terms in the actual paperwork. Horrible!!!One of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had in years with RBC.

The real problem in this branch is a lack of banking knowledge. In spite of waiting for two weeks for an appointment, this branch's staff was unable to even answer my question. Despite my explanation, he repeated himself several times and told me that we did not have an upper level manager who could answer your question. When I inquired about my banking issue, he tried to reveal my problems with anything that was not associated with the bank.

The staff at this branch is very knowledgeable and works in customer interests. We came to transfer money and they immediately advised us not to do it the way we were instructed, but add an extra layer of security by doing it the right way. Big thanks to the Branch manager Alex and his team for their help!

Ridiculously bad phone support. All I need is the branch manager's name for a credit check.... after 30 minutes, fighting their automated phone system, being hung up on once, finally get to speak to a centralized person who themselves can't simply give me a contact name easily. You can't directly contact your branch.

I went in to get 6 US 5 dollar bills, a process which I thought would be fairly quick. Here’s what I went through.1. There were two tellers both working with customers, one of whom was apparently new (Alireza) and so was being helped by another bank employee.2. The bank employee, possibly from the investment side of the bank, and Alireza’s customer were involved in a social conversation about the customer’s father and his upcoming trip.3. I asked Alireza if he could quickly get me the US cash.4. I was quite emphatically told that I would just have to wait my turn by the other bank employee which I did, and he continued to socialize with the customer. Alireza and I waited.5. Once my turn came, the other employee left (what happened to his helping the new guy?) and Alireza said the bank may not have 6 US fives!6. He did say he would check but had to wait for the other teller who was still dealing with her original client.7. My request seems to me to be quite simple, and I know the problem was not created by Alireza.9. I feel that the other bank employee was rude, perhaps deferring to his investment client.10. I think the bank’s system of changing large bills is too slow.11. Perhaps the bank should have a few more US bills on hand.12. I believe bank employees should socialize outside the bank and understand that when they are taking their time socializing with one customer, they are also taking the time of every other customer in line for a teller.

I forgot common here. About a few month ago, I came this branch to deposit my ICBC rebate cheque.After a few days later, when I checked my account online, I found that the money wasn’t there. At first I thought it would be taking time to show that online. One month later, there still was no that money in my account. Then I had to go to this branch again. Thank god they found my original cheque which didn’t be deposited in my account. It took long time to figure out this issue which supposed to be very simple thing. Although I think the staff who made mistake didn’t do that on purpose, how can you trust the bank which can’t deposit your money you gave them?

Very nosey people working here. I'm a member of RBC and I was outside waiting to meet my roommate so I could deposit the rent into my account. In the meantime I have a some "karen" coming out into the parking lot questioning me about what I'm doing and that I'm not welcome to park there if I'm not using the bank. Born and raised in Lynn Valley I'm a 40 plus year old grown man and I felt like I was getting in trouble from my mom. Due to this unnecessary experience ill be closing my personal and business account with RBC. Hope you feel like a hero, Karen!

Some of the worst customer service by phone I've ever dealt with. I had to repeat my question several times to the representative, there were long pauses where I'm left saying "hello," after many long awkward seconds, and a representative who's clearly multi-tasking as I can hear her keyboard typing in the background. Being utterly disinterested and disconnected is not how you service your loyal clients guys.
