RED Mountain Resort offers an expansive and huge terrain with a mix of easy, challenging, and awesome tree skiing, especially on a powder day. The mountain is bigger than it looks and features beautiful, spectacular views. It is known for its uncrowded slopes and fewer crowds, providing a solid, low-key experience. The vibe is friendly with all the mom and pop vibes and a nostalgic feel, partly due to chairlifts that are old skool with no high speed quads. The base area has been developed to create a more resort-like experience. Accommodations like The Josie hotel are top notch, with excellent concierge service and easy slope access. Dining options are great, including a delicious restaurant at the hotel, Paradise Lodge, Flying Phil's, and options in the very cool town of Rossland, which features a great brewery and delicious restaurants. Rafters Bar is recommended for apres ski fun and its No Shower Happy Hour. Services are friendly and helpful, with mountain hosts available to show guests around. Parking is typically a breeze, though it can fill up on a powder day, with a shuttle available from town. Overall, it is considered one of BC’s best kept secrets, a RAD place definitely worth visiting.
