Unfortunately I have to use Coast Capital for my mother as it's her accounts and funds but I manage it as power of attorney, if it weren't such a pain in the butt I would pull everything and change everything to another financial institution the service is spotty at best you can't get a hold of the branches, app has glitches all the time and nobody seems to know how to help you, God help you trying to call them the wait times are ridiculous ,not to mention there's a woman in the Royal Oak branch who actually took apart The Power of Attorney papers to photocopy which was incorrect and voids the papers and I told her not to do that and she did it anyways it's just nobody knows what they're doing. All I can say is look for another financial institution save yourself from a bank that seems like it's going to go out of business because they can't seem to get anything right. Save yourself a headache bank with somebody else.

Impossible to get a hold of them on the phone. They switched to MC from visa, now I can't get my card activated and after entering my card number umpteen times on the phone, I am now on hold waiting for a representative......Meanwhile, no charge card. They only gave 3 days to switch.Coast capital used to be good, now they are just another 'bank'.

Coast Capital is good, but they've used COVID as an excuse to close this location. The idea of closing locations and concentrating people into fewer branches bears some re-evaluation. It also bears some review that a business (the Saanichton branch) can stay effectively closed for 6+ months. Most businesses are not so lucrative that they can bear to keep a lease for this long with the doors shut.

Staff are pleasant. Online banking website is down alot. There seems to be no way to contact Coast Capital in a timely manner short of going to a branch. Even at that, they may not be able to help. The phone wait times are horrific. Basically useless unless you can sit by the phone for long periods. I have been with Coast for many many years. They have gone downhill steadily in that last bunch of years. I haven't had these issues with my other institution. Sadly I may have to move all to the other place as this is absolutely untenable. How can you work with an institution that you cannot even get ahold of? ?Update:A week later. Logged into website and midway through paying bills it went down..... AGAIN.I am currently on hold to the call center. 20 minutes and counting.....I think it is known within the banking community that Coast is in trouble.Cannot get to bank until next week. Then I am pulling all my funds out of there.Oh wait, got through(27 mins) , it's a known issue, what a surprise... NOT.Now I Continue on hold to connect with my local branch manager.... There is no other number to phone but he can 'put me through.' .. Waiting.... Now 35 mins in total......Wow. No others words. Just wow.I am literally unable to contact my financial institution on a weekday mid afternoon.
