Terrific museum. Admission is by donation. I enjoy the way it captures the fabric of everyday life at the time including the social activities and old newspapers. While the collective dream was short-lived, those that stayed created a resilient, vibrant community. In addition, as someone with Finnish heritage, it brings back memories of growing up in a place filled with Finnish immigrants. Always a pleasure to visit.

It's a small Island, if you are a bicycle lover then you take a bicycle in rent. I would advise you to reach early in the morning along with some breakfast and lunch for your day.The Sointula Museum is small but it has vast history to explore.

Excellent covid safe welcome and in the winter it was easy to make an appointment to visit through a couple of text messages. There are three rooms which take you through geology, First Nations and Finnish settler history. The artifacts give you a good view of social life as well as working life, and the cultural roots. This is definitely worth a visit.
