This Circle K branch has one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had in Canada.
I went there to return several Amazon items and simply placed them inside a box to keep them together until I reached the return point. Before I could even explain, the Punjabi lady working there suddenly said in a very aggressive tone:
“We don’t take Amazon boxes here! Go to Staples!”
She didn’t greet me, didn’t let me speak, and assumed I was trying to return the whole box. When I tried to explain, she interrupted me again and asked to see the items first “to decide if they were big or small.”
First of all, there is no official notice on Amazon website saying that Circle K does not accept Amazon returns packed in boxes. Every other Amazon drop-off location accepts items without such an issue.
Either this branch has an undeclared policy, or this was unprofessional individual behaviour. In both cases, this is unacceptable.
If Circle K cannot handle Amazon returns properly, they should clearly state that on the Amazon website or remove themselves from the return network altogether.
Many other reviews mention similar problems with rude or unhelpful staff, so it’s clearly not an isolated incident. The overall 2.2-star rating speaks for itself.
And please, Circle K, stop pasting the same generic reply saying “A one-star review shows we need to improve.” You’ve been replying with that exact sentence for months while nothing ever changes. The store rating of 2.2 stars clearly proves that.
If this branch cannot properly handle Amazon returns, Amazon should remove it from the drop-off list.
Circle K should hire people who actually understand basic customer service and know how to talk to customers respectfully.
Circle K really needs to investigate these complaints seriously, and take real action instead of copy-pasting the same generic reply.

Rude lady at the front desk. If you don't like the job then perhaps let someone else have it then?

They don’t take amazon parcels. I went 3 times to return my parcels and they refused each time with a different reason. On the third attempt, they claimed connection issues. The man at the counter refused to help, call assistance, or troubleshoot anything despite it being on their end. When I asked him to figure out the app since I had to return them before the long weekend, he fake called 911 even though I was just standing there and asking him to do his job.
If you want good customer service and understanding, I highly recommend you don’t shop here. If I could give zero stars I would.

I go here often and the lady who works here consistently seems to hate all humanity, her job and her very own existence.
Find a new job if you don’t like it, I’m sure you’d find one very easily in the service industry.
I would never hire such a person for a frontend/customer-facing job.

I walked into the store with my child to cash some money, and I was in a rush. My child is also autistic. As we were leaving, I noticed my child had a toy in his hand that I didn’t know about. Before I could take it back myself, a Punjabi lady (I’m not sure of her background) suddenly yelled “HEY!” which startled both me and my child. I gently placed the toy back on a display near the front, but she came toward me in a very aggressive manner, yelling at me to put it back where it belonged. Her demeanour was unprofessional, if she had asked nicely then there would be no problem. Really disrespectful. She stated she has a child of her own and proceed to act the way she did towards me and my son.

I had the worst experience with my wife at the store because of my child picking up a toy and my wife grabbing it and throwing it on the aisle and the Employee started yelling at my wife and taking it too seriously when the issue could be resolved with the Employee picking it up From the aisle as well as the child is autistic so he doesn’t know what he is doing
Worst service ever if there was a zero star, I would give it

This store is not terrible the issue is that homeless people have started to make commercially drive the new east Hastings. While the store has a Verity of Candy's and chips some of the items are priced a little bit too high. Then the issue with the doors being locked is ment to keep thefts out of the store however this isn't a good approach as it also sends the message that hey we don't want customers in our store. Rather security should be hired. Meanwhile the whole lower Broadway and commercial end is suffering as many businesses are moving to Hastings as rents sky high and crime in the area is growing. To be honest I don't think that this circle K location has much more time before it also shuts it's doors. The final noticeable situation with this location is that there is only two employees and so service is slower

Limited selection (bare shelves), cashier doesn’t care about ringing in the wrong items/pricing. This place is a rip-off with terrible customer service. Go anywhere else.

The establishment lacked customer service, with a particular staff member—a Punjabi lady—exhibiting an unwelcoming attitude and little tolerance. Additionally, their coffee is priced comparably to Starbucks or Waves Coffee, yet it falls short in quality, failing to match either Starbucks or Waves Coffee . I have no intention of returning.
