There is a crazy employee that will accuse anyone of steeling if you don’t carry a basket. No wonder That’s her best. Leach her.

My mum took my 3 kids to the dollar store at Hastings & Templeton and was harassed by a male staff member. While my youngest was standing in the store next to her a male employee at the store leaned down and waved his finger in front of the face of my 3year old saying in a loud and aggressive voice “don’t you touch anything”. When my mum told him that the child was simply standing there and to not speak to him in that fashion he became argumentative and stated that “children always make a mess in the store”. My mum began to leave when she again observed this employee go up to another older boy in the store and harass that child by directing a racial slur his way. The boy left the store before she could say anything to him. She then approached the employee and told him to leave the children in the store alone. He just walked away.My mum left the store immediately and was shaken up by her experience. My 5 year old told me when they got home that there was a really bad man at the dollar store and she didn’t want to go back. I emailed the corporate office with the above detailed.

The prices are the same as every other dollar store, and its easy to get a five finger discount if needed, hopefully not.

$1.25 for everything I think. Maybe not helium balloons, but I don’t know. Great for cheap Tupperware and other kitchen items with lots of seasonal a craft stuff. Check here before you get ripped off at Michaels.

Visited the store today to exchange two unopened items with original receipt in hand. Was told by sales associate that since I had purchased the items over 2 weeks ago I couldn’t exchange them as per company policy. I asked her to show me on the receipt where this policy was noted on the receipt. She answered by saying it isn’t noted on the receipt, but I tell every customer when they check-out with me. Doesn’t seem like a very thorough way to ensure every customer is getting the message... She called her manager over who so generally left her break to speak with me. The manager reiterated their company policy and that the store team has no control over the wording printed on the receipt. With the manager unwilling to budge on the exchange, and I not wanting the unwanted items to end up in a landfill, I gifted the items back to them to resell and left without an exchange. My recommendation to the corporate level is to have your policy clearly stated on the receipt, or empower your employees to make a judgement call without hiding behind company policy that they seemingly have no control over.

I used to go to the Dollar Tree regularly in Richmond, BC until they closed it down. Then went to the Dollar Tree in New West station -- that store is an absolute mess (the manager is NEVER on the floor) and I've found expired product there regularly. They say they will pull it from the shelf but never do. I started going to this store because of the ladies that worked at Richmond, BC went to this store. The store is amazingly better stocked now than it ever was! If you ever go into the store and need something, but can't find it ask for Sabira (or is it Sabrina) -- she's an absolute GEM and has the best customer service there.

The worst customer service ever! Loud rude and abnoctious, same individual, that previously "taught" me parenting skills, when he thought I was unaware my 2 year old is holding the lollipop, that I wasn't going to purchase. This time same person... When asked, if I need a bag, I replied I have my own, he, after scanning my purchases , was literally throwing them at me, while I was bagging it all.All and all, not happy with your job, quit! Make a place for someone, who will appreciate it in these times !

I called ahead to ask if they had something in stock, they said yes. I asked if it was just one or two because I need a bunch. They said "we have boxes of them" . Travelled an hour to get there and they say they cant find them and literally asked me to look through all the boxes on the top shelf to find them. Still couldn't find them. what kind of business is this? when do I get my t4?

I had an awesome evening shopping trip, the store was nice and quiet I was able to take my time and really look at the items I was wanting to buy which makes for a great shopping trip for me. The staff didn't make me feel the least bit uncomfortable, which was excellent.i recommend shopping here to anyone and everyone. Thanks again to the stag at the dollar tree.

It is what it is! It can get better&clean for sure! They need more than one cashier but always there is only one cashier. Went yesterday 5 min before closing time and it was closed! This is not good. When it is written 9 sharp than it should close at 9 sharp! Not at 8:55.

My mom always told me "3 positives and 1 negative" when giving feedback. Im not going to do that exactly but I will start with some positives. 1)The store is located in a convenient place for a lot of people in the community to access. 2) They have some low cost food such as canned vegetables and bread for example. This is great for people who can't afford the alternative places to shop in the neighbourhood or for those who like a hot deal on tinfoil or table salt. 3) One time while waiting in line a customer was yelling at the cashier and calling her names......she just yelled back in his face.....saying something like "You can't f****** talk to me like that! I don't give a s*** about this job!" and she called the cops. So that was cool of her. He can't talk to her like that. Good for her! 4) All of the staff are really nice and helpful, besides the two interactions I describe later on in my review. It's pretty much the worst dollar store I have ever been to. Looking for marbles for my fish tank...NOTHING. Looking for a rubber snake to scare someone...NOTHING. Looking for a paint roller because every other dollar store on earth has one........TOO BAD! Also, listen to this! I used to have the most mellow old sweet dog that even people who didn't like dogs loved. Dogs get stolen all the time in this area so I brought him inside one scorching hot summer day for his own safety. My dog was just laying calmly on the nice cool floor being adorable and they asked me to leave. Like I understand a no dog policy but that dog should have been the exception to the rule anywhere he went. He was a better dog than most people are, and anyone could see it in his eyes. The employee would not even allow me to buy the outdoor plastic wine glasses I so desperately needed. I promised myself I would never go back. But then in a desperate emergency I cracked and back to the Dollar Tree on Hastings I went. I entered the Dollar Tree with an open mind and open heart but yet again was super disappointed. It was my friends 40th birthday party and I was in charge of bringing the helium filled balloons. An important job, I know. My mom had recently given me a huge gold number "4" balloon and a huge gold "0" balloon to bring. Perfect right? Alas the cashier would not fill my balloons with helium. Apparently they have a policy to only fill balloons bought at that specific Dollar Tree location. No matter what angle I tried the lady behind the till would not fill my special balloons with helium. I think normally the cost per balloon is like 75 cents each. I told the lady I would pay her 10$ each balloon, she said NO. I told her I would buy a bunch of other balloons and have them filled with helium as well, she still said NO. I was running out of time to get to the party with my special balloons and was panicking. I finally told her I would buy a giant "4" and "0" from this Dollar Tree location. Get this...she said they didn't HAVE a number 4 balloon in the store. ANYWHERE. I explained that this was a "40"th birthday and why I needed her to fill up the balloons I brought in. She still said no. I explained that I did not have time to drive across town to have them filled and she would really be doing me a solid.......but she just would not budge. This employee really went by the Dollar Tree handbook. Feeling defeated and out of options I bought some regular old helium filled balloons and held my head in shame when I showed up to the party. If that doesn't paint a picture of this dollar store. I don't know what will.
