I can always count on IGA Robson to have spoiled produce. I used to come here for convenience as it is close to me but I have had to return produce several times (onions, garlic, tomatoes). This has been extremely frustrating. The prices are exorbitant and in fact I have found whole foods to be better quality and the produce at IGA is just old, spoiled. I would not recommend this store for your grocery needs.

I was trying to track down duck breast, called ahead and they told me they had it. I traveled from east Van on the bus to pick it up to find out that they don't have any. Giant waste of my time. Never returning to this location.

I have never ever eaten such a scone SO Delicious 😋 it is moist, light, soft, not crumbly, and the flavourful taste makes my pallet and taste buds very happy. My new ‘ must have ‘ food. The cheese&onion scone is savoury; the mixed fruit scone is overloaded with fruit blueberry and strawberry, a dessert delight Yums !! All the bakery staff are so pleasant, nice and helpful on all my visits…( &my first time in esp.Dipan ) Thank you.

I’m not demanding exceptional service or favoritism, as I’m too busy with my own thoughts, life, and projects — standard respectful treatment is definitely good enough for me.
I usually receive excellent service in downtown Vancouver — at another nearby store, young staff often compete to serve me. That’s why my experience at this IGA was especially disappointing.
A young male cashier quite bluntly refused to serve me without explanation and immediately served another customer instead, while a female cashier nearby assisted me without issue. The stark contrast felt deliberately dismissive and unprofessional — as though I was being singled out and publicly disrespected.
Given that I’ve had a similar experience at another store, it’s difficult not to see this as a deliberate attempt to demean or humiliate me. Vancouver often prides itself on inclusivity and respect, but experiences like this reveal a troubling gap between image and reality. As if the gloomy weather weren’t enough, interactions like these make the city feel even less welcoming.
At the end, the female cashier loudly asked, “Do you need a receipt?” twice, which only added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. I chose to leave quietly without further interaction.
Such behavior not only creates an unpleasant environment but also undermines the store’s reputation. It reflects poor training, immaturity, or personal bias — none of which should have a place in customer service. I hope management addresses this seriously to ensure every customer is treated with equal respect and professionalism.

This store is incredibly expensive. Most items are double the price, if not more, compared to other stores in the area. Bakery/dessert selection is pretty much non existent. The store setup is not good, as you are constantly bumping into people. Security staff are the worst! Not only do they follow people around constantly for no reason, but they gossip to each other and other staff in South Asian language. There were 3 of them gossiping one day, and I understood everything they were saying. This seems common practice in their community though, and you experience this at any company they are employed at. I find this to be very rude and unprofessional in general. If you are not talking/gossiping about other people, then just speak English to each other please. Gossiping in your own language is still gossiping! It's a terrible characteristic. I rarely shop at this store anymore. I now shop at another business that is clean, organized, friendly staff, better selection of everything, and the prices are so much more affordable. They have excellent security, but they don't follow everyone around. Instead, they use their cameras more, and they get to know their regular customers, so they know if someone is shoplifting or not. Customers need to feel comfortable when they are shopping, and it's important for a business to respect that.

I canceled my Care Card and reported it as lost because the staff here take your ID if you use a shopping cart, which is really weird. I know what they are up to. it happened to me before. I just want to warn others don’t hand over your ID if you need to take the cart outside. They take picture of your front and back.

Relatively big supermarket conveniently located in downtown Vancouver, in the general hotel area. Good selection, we got some good breakfast items.
