Kasama Chocolate is a Vancouver-based bean-to-bar chocolate company tucked into an alley on Granville Island, beside the Performance Works building. It is a small shop and workshop that creates artisan chocolate from ethically sourced cacao beans, using both traditional methods and innovative techniques with locally sourced ingredients. Their chocolate is known for highlighting diverse flavors and is award-winning. They offer tours which teach how chocolate is made. Visitors love the amazing hot chocolate, describing it as punchy and chocolatey, with a spicy version highly recommended for spice lovers. The chocolate bars also impress, with flavor profiles you can actually taste. The shop offers samples, such as Tanduay Rum and Earl Grey Tea chocolate. They also feature special festival drinks, like a Filipino Cacao Husk & Kape Cold Brew with Vanilla Cinnamon Syrup and Ube Cold Foam, which is a perfect blend of rich cacao, coffee, and creamy ube. Another praised drink is the Isla Mocha, a chilled drink with a smooth chocolatey flavor and luscious ube cold foam. The chocolate includes unique flavor combinations like durian, which is smooth without a strong smell, and a seasonal coconut milk chocolate that is well-balanced. The staff is very nice. The chocolate is a little pricey, but you get great quality, and it is often sent as gifts. People are very impressed and plan to return, highly recommending the place.
Tasty, local Vancouver chocolate that are great souvenirs. We drop by here for gifts to bring with us every time we go on a trip. Always well-received.
