This is my favourite Safeway. They are large enough to have some items other stores don't carry. I never wait long to pay. Good free parking in the basement and sometimes inexpensive parking on the street.

This Safeway Store is in a very good location along Arbutus and Lahb Avenue with free parking in the immediate vicinity..the staff were immediately helpful when asked the location of a very specific product..the wide aisles and signage makes shopping very easy..we use the Safeway App to get information on special items on sale to assist our purchases…

I would gladly give a 5* if the butcher dept staffers (except the young Asian guy occasionally working there) are more polite and courteous to the Asian customers.

The Arbutus Shopping Centre was torn down with the old Safeway in 2017. This Safeway is newer (June 2020) than the Broadway & Macdonald, Oak & King Edward and West 4th & Vine. Yew St entrance to the huge underground parking on P1. Store is very clean, tidy, bright and not too busy. Managers from head office bring trainees here for a tour often. On the day of the morning tour, every item is stacked perfectly.

Bright, clean and well stocked store. A large assortment of prepackaged salads, cheeses, bakery products.Has everything all Safeways have just on a larger scale.Staff are friendly and helpful. I purchased a number of items from the deli counter. If you ask for thin sliced, that's exactly what you get. There is a push towards self checkout. I don't like that. We're paying to do the work for the company. I know at times it could be faster but most of the time I end up making the machine angry and someone has to help me.Products are fresh, the prepackaged salads I bought were quite edible days after.Parking is below the complex in identified Safeway parking stalls. Plenty of carts.

BAWARE. My grandmother was pick pocketed at the self check out. Scammers are claiming that she did not pay. Plain clothed men approached her and said she left without paying. Unfortunately, because her age, she was taken advantage of. They took her groceries and what little money what she had. Tell, your family. AVOID

Originally we gave five stars, but an experience happened that made us change our mind. We had an unfortunate incident with a cashier, Sim*n, who tossed paper bags our way when we asked for them and left us to bag our products ourselves. But she then enthusiastically made conversation with the next customer in line and helped with her bags. This cashier doesn’t seem quite fit for this retail business, and hopefully if she reads this, she will understand that “architecture is also a field in which cooperation and civility is very important if she ever decides to make good on her college degree.”.also Safeway customer service is also a joke or something.. look all the one star comment, the attitude of the cashier is always the problem but Safeway Company seems really don’t care about that! If you want a better shopping experience, maybe you have better choice!

Not bad, but be sure to check your receipt before leaving, as cashiers do not always honour advertised deals. Or maybe departments fail to share information. I don’t know whose fault it is, but in any case, take the time to check your receipt before moving on, even if there is a line-up behind you.Otherwise, it’s a nice enough place, but you pay for it. It’s worth going a little out of your way to a different store that will be equally nice, but offer better value for money and actually honour advertised deals.

Always great place to buy. Less people walking around and friendly staff. I find friends and neighbors shopping around all the time.

I drive out of my way to this Safeway. It offers great underground parking for rainy day trips, it’s very spacious and well laid out (unlike most Safeways Ive been to in Vancouver). I actually drove 10 minutes past a closer Safeway to go to this specific one. It’s clean, staff are friendly and helpful, it’s kind of a little secret spot because it’s relatively quiet with little to no lines.

I like that it has great bakery with a good selection of pastries and bread. It’s also very neat and tidy there with plentiful parking underground - probably because it’s never super busy.
