My pup has gone to Urban Puppy Shop a few times and he just loves it. He is always ready to go in and play. Once your dog is in the system it is super easy to book, and they always have availability that can meet your needs. They post on Instagram updates of the pups so you can see your dog playing.
The only reason I’m not giving five star is because he is stinky after I pick him up, sometimes like pee. That being said there is a lot of dogs there. It’s kind of inevitable if they’re playing with each other all the time. Would definitely recommend otherwise!

I did a trial shift at this dog daycare and would not recommend it to anyone.
The space is simply not big enough. I've read other reviews where the owner has responded, boasting about their "5500 sq ft" establishment. I would like to know how many square feet each individual dog room is, because the space that the dogs get to occupy is much smaller. I'd guess that the little dog room was 200 square feet and there were 12-14 dogs, the middle sized room was maybe 350 square feet and there were 10-12 dogs, and the big dog room was about 350 square feet and there were 10 dogs in it. If someone is reading this and intends to address these concerns, post the square footage of the dog rooms and the max number of dogs in each, if you really stand behind your business, this shouldn't be a problem.
The small dog room has a bunch of beds and platforms for the dogs to hang on if they'd like, but there were simply too many dogs for the size of space. The medium sized dog room has a few kennels and one small tiny bed under the stairs, there was no where near enough room for the dogs to play, let alone for some to play and some to relax. The big dog room was not too bad on the day that I was there, but there were no beds and the dogs were just on the ground.
Unless you pay a premium for a longer walk, the dog will be walked around the block, which takes about 5 minutes, and thats it. I asked specifically about this, and that's the standard.
The manager had me in the office for a sit down conversation before I left, where she said that "people think that dog daycares are all sunshine and rainbows, but its not, there will be dog fights, there will be blood". That isn't an exact quote, but the sentiment is accurate. If that is the reality of your business, maybe it isn't a good business. Instead of making their facility a place where dogs can be comfortable, they seem to think that dog fights and injuries are just an acceptable practise. I can't speak to the frequency of these occurrences at this establishment, but the attitude towards it was despicable.
I've never been more horrified. There were a few dogs that seemed adjusted to the close-quarters nature of the environment but I'd say that 80% of them were just anxious and uncomfortable.
If you want to get an idea of what the people operating this place are like, just read the argumentative and defensive responses to negative reviews. They are always posting looking for more employees, and it isn't hard to see why. They sponsor people for residency, which I'm guessing is the only reason they are still able to employ enough people to operate at all.

Hire drivers who can stay in their lanes, especially while driving large vans, and driving while having people's dogs inside. Not acceptable!

I’ve been a customer at the Urban Puppy Shop for about a year now and my corgi has gone there for his regular trims.
I dropped him off yesterday at 11am and requested a regular trim and wash and shampoo.
I picked him up at 4pm to find his coat trimmed way too much. They tried to pass it off to me by saying he looks great and while they were trimming his butt, they needed to trim his body more to maintain consistency. I’m not a confrontational person, and I took him home.
An hour later, I noted that his left eye was swollen with a clear discharge. Took him to the vet today and he has 2 ulcerations of the cornea. Not blaming the team for manhandling him - I know that they seem like genuine dog people working there. However, my issue is 2 fold-
1. Inform me if you’re taking an executive decision to trim my dog more than what my instructions are
2. If, in the course of a groom, there’s a suspected injury, tell me so I can be vigilant and aware of it. I’m obviously not going to hold you liable and understand that these things happen.
Very disappointed.

Great little spot to trust that my lil puppy isn’t alone at home while I’m at work. Staff is always super friendly, drop-off & pick ups are prompt, and I always see staff taking dogs on one-on-one walks around the neighbourhood.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE.My partner worked here for a few months and quit due to the stress they were under. She would come home in tears because the facility is not fit for purpose and the dogs were simply not being looked after properly.First of all they would board too many dogs at once, keeping them in over crowded rooms not adequate for the amount of dogs they had that day. Some dogs who needed to be isolated were kept in crates with no pads or bedding so they would be sitting or lying down on the bare wires. The concrete floors would be constantly covered in pee and excrement which the dogs would roll in and they would often go home dirty and smelling. They would accept dogs with aggression or behavioural issues and just leave them in crates by themselves for hours at a time. My partner brought her concerns to the manager explaining that some of the dogs were clearly in distress and that it was their responsibility to inform the owners, however this was quickly dismissed and she was told that the dogs there were all happy, but even admitted sometimes they do not have the appropriate staffing levels to give the dogs the attention they need and deserve. All these concerns fell on deaf ears. My partner has previous experience working with dogs and knew that how they were running things was grossly negligent, and purely about maximising revenue and profits rather than providing a decent and proper service.I expect the owner will reply to this dismissing these concerns yet again. However please trust my word that we have nothing to gain from sharing these comments, other than to shed light on the realities of what sending your dog to this awful facility is really like to both prospective and existing clients alike. Thanks for reading.
