Masia F. Maja Mid.As we breached the threshold of Viti Corp., a peculiar atmosphere enveloped us, suggesting our intrusion. The perfunctory greeting of “Hello…?” from the man at the till, notorious for his perceived rudeness, surprisingly lacked the expected disdain. His companion, unremarkable in demeanor, prompted us to embark on a quest for affordable libations. Our mission, to secure reasonably priced alcohol, seemed nearly insurmountable in a realm dominated by expensive American spirits and a baffling lack of knowledge about French wines. A beacon emerged from the shadows—a chance encounter with an accessible wine, its label revealed. Delight surged within us as we grasped the opportunity, akin to children stumbling upon an intoxicating Eden on an unassuming Monday. However, our triumph was marred by a pricing discrepancy. The overlords declared $19, while our assumption rested firmly at $10, perhaps $13 in a generous estimation. Disgruntled, we expressed our dismay with courtesy and a touch of embarrassment. “Golly! Shucks! I thought it was 10 bones, 13 at most! Right over there, on that shelf,” we pointed. The enigmatic overlord, despite our preconceptions, obliged. In that moment, the scales tipped, and we, the financially challenged patrons, found an unexpected ally.Replacing our coveted Open Merlot with the admittedly middling Masia F., the transaction concluded at $13. Disgruntlement transformed into satisfaction as we exited. Where would we be without him? The answer eluded us. Rather than departing disgruntled, saddened, and oddly aroused, we left content, having acquired what we sought in ways that truly mattered. What more is there to say?

Small but packed store with good selection of craft beers, but sadly most of them were 4-packs, this can be a good thing for some people, but not me, seemed like a trend in Canadian stores everywhere though.

I stopped drinking beer years ago because I stopped drinking alcohol completely. But I still like the taste of beer, and the social aspect of drinking. So I’ve spent a good deal of time looking for non-alcoholic beers that taste as good as a real beer. It’s not easy to find good non-alcoholic beers but Erdinger Alkoholfrei is one of the best there is. It’s an imported German beer and I used to drink the Erdinger Weibbier 5.3% alcohol version, back in the day, and I thought it was a great beer. So I was happy to discover they had an alcholhol free version. The other piece of this puzzle is Viti Wine And Lager Liquor Store, on Seymour Street in Downtown Vancouver. This is one of the few places in Vancouver that carries Erdinger Alkoholfrei beer. Apparently they carry a lot of speciality, imported, or hand-crafted products from all over the world. It’s a small and very intimate space that’s jam packed with bottles, but the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. It’s great store to have in downtown Vancouver, especially for people who like to walk to a local store and grab a bottle or two, rather than drive to a much larger store where you have to fight traffic all the way there and back.I also love the Brittany Spears themed tip cup, at the counter. Nice touch.

Great quality merchant, covering wine and beer. As an overseas visitor I was interested in its domestic offerings - it did not disappoint. The staff member serving was knowledgeable and more than helpful in guiding me towards some producers I was seeking. Looking to get back as I regret not picking up the Quebecois Baltic Porter I should have grabbed.

Tiny place, with somewhat limited selection. However, what they have in the shelves is good. Good selection of beers, German and Belgian among others. From memory, nice selection of sake. I'd go there more often if I lived closer.

I was embarrassingly blown away by the knowledge and customer service. Very helpful! I am definitely going back for more recommendations from the staff member. I guess I should’ve asked what his name was. ???♀️ This indeed goes great with my pasta!

most negative reviews mention a particular staff member; i've only been here 3-4 times but all staff have been super lovely so far it's a small shop crammed full of booze

decent selection, but both times i went here (both alone and with someone) the staff went out of their way to be rude, dismissive, or otherwise make me feel unwelcomed as a customer. The last time I was there, I approached the counter to pay and the older guy behind the register decided he would count all of the nickels in the register rather than ring me up, then be rude to me and my date.
