One of the oldest artist-run art hubs in Vancouver, a steward of critical history and an agent for emergent experimental media arts practices.

Brilliant black box style performance/exhibition space. Lots of well-priced AV gear to rent for artists. All-ages, fully accessible space.

This is my absolute favorite arts center in all of Vancouver. I've never been so impressed by live performance before. The crowd is a niche of extremely artistic individuals working alongside one another to bring the most unique, obscure and pleasing art to the stage and walls. Seeing like-minded individuals of all ages coming together gave me more hope in the arts community than anything else. I hope Vivo Media Arts never goes away.

They posted their hours for a show today in a comment on Facebook instead of the main description for the event or anywhere i could see on the building entrance (it's certainly different from what is listed on Yelp). Standing there in the cold with a friend scrolling on Facebook I finally found the comment. I'm not sure why something as basic as opening hours shouldn't be posted somewhere more accessible to visitors.

A place where education, art and experimentation merge, and awesome people too....couldn't recommend more!

I've come here at least 2 - 3 times a year for various events and showings. It is a great space that is accessible to all. Very transit friendly (take the #3 up Main from the train station). Clean space with lots of room to decorate, set up and maneuver at will. Vancouver needs more spaces open to the public like this.
