The West End Community Centre on Denman Street offers activities and programs for all ages and abilities. It is a very busy place with many students and participants. The centre provides a wide range of amenities including childcare, preschool classes, a youth centre, a photography dark room, a pottery studio, an auditorium, racquetball and squash courts, a dance studio, indoor cycling, an ice rink, and a fitness centre with a steam room. It is also home to a library and is associated with a manor for seniors. The staff and volunteers are consistently friendly, helpful, and do everything in their power to support visitors, creating positive and great experiences. Many families have enjoyed programs like summer camp for years. However, the building itself is in pretty rough shape and needs work, with parts of the ceiling missing. While it has tons of potential and offers good things for the community, it could absolutely use a face lift. Outside, a bicycle app is available and a bicycle rack is provided.
Amazing place for affordable community activities. I go here to make use of their nice and well maintained darkroom, for my analog film development and printing hobby.
