Glad I was referred here by friends years ago. While I was struggling to find a decent 4x4 and accessories store in the Shuswap/Okanagan region, this is the place to be!!!
The staff are extremely knowledgeable, considerate and hard working. They stand by their work and provide solid Canadian products.
Any issues I had were immediately rectified without any hassle and I have peace of mind taking future work to them.
I also wanted to specifically mention that this store and staff are extremely inclusive and a safe space for any alternative lifestyle people looking for a go to outdoor/offroad recreation store.

Outstanding Service and Quality Build for Overlanding Setup!
I recently had the team at Cap-It outfit my Frontier truck with an Alu-Cab canopy camper, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Dave was particularly helpful throughout the entire process—asking probing questions upfront, providing ongoing build updates, and offering support afterward. Their responsiveness was top-notch, and the staff was welcoming, transparent, and truly committed to helping me achieve the best build within my budget. They even helped me shave off some expenses, which was greatly appreciated.
My build required several custom components that Cap-It didn't have on hand. The store proactively reached out to third-party vendors, sourced the necessary parts, and took care of the installation. This level of service was fantastic. I also had a few unique requests, such as custom electrical wiring and a water faucet setup, all of which were handled perfectly.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind:
- Propane Piping Placement: Not a store-specific issue, but due to safety regulations, the propane piping had to be placed on the outside, which wasn't my preference. Just something to be aware of if you’re considering a similar build.
- Cap-It Logo: The store will rivet a Cap-It logo onto the back of the camper. While I understand it's their policy, I personally prefer no logos. Especially if Im paying a good chunk for it. If you're like me and want a clean look, be sure to discuss this early on.
- Silicone Application: Some of the silicone work could be a bit more refined—there's a section that looks a bit messy. However, to be fair, I was rushing the team that day, so it's understandable.
Despite these minor points, I highly recommend Cap-It, especially if communication is important to you. I shopped around before deciding to go with them, and what set them apart was their responsiveness and genuine care. A few weeks after the build, I had an issue with one of the lights in the camper. Dave quickly arranged for a replacement, no questions asked—this kind of after-sales support is rare and very much appreciated.

My vehicle was broken into while parked overnight. I’m extremely disappointed as I mentioned that I would have to drop off the night before. I was not told where to park, that they have a problem with homeless breaking into vehicles and that it would be my responsibility if anything happens. If I was told I would not have dropped vehicle off. My window was broken and items were stolen that can not be replaced. I do not recommend this place as I feel they didn’t even care! And to top it off I didn’t even get my hitch as the employee called in sick. So this experience was costly with nothing to show ?

Dave and his team are fantastic! In the past month I brought my truck in twice for two separate minor repairs with products I had purchased from them 3 years ago.They took it into the shop right away, fixed it in less than half an hour each time and didn't charge me anything.Highly recommend for their customer service alone.
