The grounds are well maintained and very beautiful. There are many architecturally stunning buildings to see and explore including the beautiful St Annes Church. We stayed here with airbnb as well in their glamping which was a great experience, especially visiting all the animals the next morning. I would give five stars easily but a staff member yelled at us for apparently driving over a sprinkler ( which we did not ) when we couldn't find the path out. Put a damper on an overall great experience just at the end.

We love this place, spring, summer and fall, a treasure worthy of a stop. They have a great collection to check out with a nice balance for the kids to stay busy. They have people dressed up to get a true vibe of the heritage. They have a lot to offer, worth looking into before going to see what events they are holding or classes they might be doing. Just stopping by to check out is also worth the stop.

One of the last places you can go on a donation!

We visited Historic O’Keefe Ranch on a sunny Sunday, October 27, which made the picturesque views even more enjoyable. The ranch was operating on a donation basis instead of an entrance fee, with a suggested donation of $10 per adult and $5 per child over 5. The experience offered a family-friendly glimpse into local history with authentic buildings, farm animals, and informative exhibits. It’s a fantastic spot for families, as kids can explore the grounds and interact with some animals, adding a bit of hands-on fun to the historical insight. Highly recommended for a leisurely day out with family!

What a wonderful day to roam the ranch with my grandsons! We loved the wagon ride behind the tractor and enjoyed Osa's stories. Beautiful fall leaves and crackling campfire.

Attended the Halloween corn mazes at the ranch. It has been an event that a friend and I have gone to every year. Each year, we have had a great time. However, this year was a bit of a letdown for us. Lines were so bad that in almost 4 hrs, we only managed to get through 2 out of the 4 mazes we had pre punched tickets for. Hopefully, next year, the experience will be as great as the years we have previously gone. Thank you all for all the hard work and dedication that goes into the mazes every year.

What a lovely place to visit for young families. Fall colors are beautiful. Family corn maze, kids haunted house, sweets from the General Store and a lovely tractor ride with jokes and stories with Osa.

Field of Screams was amazing! The amount of effort they put into building the scenes and the output from the actors was phenomenal! They scared me good 👻 Might be a bit too much for the littles (depending on their fearlessness) but great fun for the whole family during spooky month. Snacks available on site as well 🍩 I highly recommend and will go again!

I heard that this place is going to be shut down, which is absolutely unfair! It’s a great spot for a family weekend or any event that takes you back to a time that will never come again. It’s a museum of everyday life from the 19th and 20th centuries with an amazing family story. Unfortunately, we arrived in the afternoon and didn’t have enough time to explore all the locations. We will definitely come back next time we visit Vernon to say "hi" to milkmaid Osa and their lucky goat.

Love visiting here. It’s really charming to see all the older building and learn of the history. Unfortunately we heard that the city of Vernon cut their financial support of this place to keep it operational. That’s unfortunate, you all need to visit here and help this great place out.

I've always wanted to visit this place, and I'm so glad I finally did! My family and I had a fantastic time exploring the museum and learning about ranch life in the 18th and 19th centuries. We spent around 2 hours there, and the whole experience was truly immersive. The staff and volunteers did a great job of bringing history to life. The kids loved seeing the animals, and the tractor ride with Miss Oso, the hilarious milk maid, was a highlight! We all had a great time and can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended for families and anyone interested in history!
