“Joe the gallery owner greeted us like old friends and invited us back for an encaustic painting demonstration. The vibe is inviting and an infectious energy. Stop by if you are in town for holidays or make a stop if you are a local. Always something new to admire!”

“Avenue Gallery continues to be an inspiring, welcoming gallery in the heart of Oak Bay Village.

Kathleen honors Heather's vision with an eclectic collection of artists who delight simply by being accessible and on display for any 'wanderer' fortunate to have the time to walk into the gallery and peruse the diverse offerings.

Jewellery, from BC artists; paintings, sculptures, whimsical and representative, allow the observer to smile and admire and be 'lifted' up on a dark, wintry day.

Everyone is welcome to browse and assistance is offered at the client's request. There is no 'hovering'; one is free to ask questions for assistance and there is an opportunity for a client to view art work in their home before making a purchase.

Each December, Hospice Victoria is the recipient of a generous donation from Avenue Gallery based on purchases made for that. month. Heather initiated this generous gesture and Kathleen wisely continues it. It has become an event we all anticipate with delight!”

“What a little treasure this gallery and gift shop is! Just near Fisherman’s Wharf so came across it by chance. Knowledgeable and friendly staff and l love that they have items by local designers. I bought some lovely ‘eagle’ design silver earrings and then saw a ring I really laiked by another local designer- but it was the beginning of our trip so I was being careful with what I spent so left it. Regretted it so much I got in touch when I got home and with Marlene’s kind help had it shipped! I’m so happy with it ?. I recommend a visit!!”

“Fortune Gallery, honestly, is the most beautiful art space in Victoria. Really friendly vibes, right in chinatown. The owner is really friendly, down to earth, and has no pretention ?! It is a great place to showcase your art and even to rent for events. The staff are very helpful and make the process simple and easy. Would definitely recommend them for anything from showing your art to hosting work functions and weddings! They are pretty environmentally counsious as well, which is always plus!”

“I always enjoy wandering into this shop because you never know what you’ll find. The spaces showcases local artists, taxidermy and other curiosities. The owner is also an artist who hosts workshops for artists looking to grow their craft. Talk to her about her next project or a project you need help with.”

“In a world severely lacking in 3rd spaces, community art hub is a safe haven of awesomeness. Cute location, always friendly volunteers, admission by donation/pay what you can, and literally all the art supplies you could ever dream off. 3D printing, yarn, fabric, block printing, painting, sewing, beading, embroidery, resin, clay, they have it ALL. I love it here and I love the people I’ve met through it.”

“I love this little Gallery, great paintings, pottery, mixed media, wooden pieces & jewellry and sculpted pieces from Vancouver Island and great staff. I can always find great works I'd love to gift myself! I ordered a painting online (it was snowing!) The painting was in my hands a couple of days later, it was packaged beautifully! Thank you so much!”

“I shopped here earlier today and it was an overall wonderful experience! Their selection of locally produced ceramics, glasswork, metalwork, jewelry, stationary & other artsy finds is very good. My partner and I ended up chatting with the ladies running the store for a good half hour and eventually left with 7 items to cross off my Christmas list! We will definitely be back ☺️ ?”

“I brought in an oil portrait of my late father that was in need of reframing (from the 70's) the staff at Broadmead were very careful with his painting and made great suggestions for the reframe to really make the portrait details stand out. I could not have been more happy with the outcome of the final work. Dad looks great and my sister and I absolutely love the newly framed portrait! I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to work with them again.”
