Exceptional Banking Experience with KC Chan at BMO VictoriaI have been banking with BMO for many years, and even though I moved away from Victoria three years ago, I still choose to manage most of my banking needs through KC Chan. KC is not just a banker; he's a financial partner who genuinely cares about his clients.KC's attentiveness is unparalleled. He always listens carefully to my needs and provides tailored advice that aligns with my financial goals. His action-oriented approach ensures that my banking needs are met promptly and efficiently, which is incredibly important for someone with a busy lifestyle like mine. What truly sets KC apart is his fantastic communication skills. He has a way of explaining complex financial concepts in a manner that's easy to understand, which is invaluable in making informed decisions. His regular updates and check-ins make me feel valued and well-informed about my financial health. As a member of the Canadian Armed Forces family, it's crucial for me to bank with an institution that understands and supports the unique needs of military families. KC Chan has consistently demonstrated this understanding and has gone above and beyond to ensure that my family feels secure and confident in our financial decisions with BMO.I highly recommend KC to anyone looking for a trusted banking advisor in Victoria, BC

Rude staff member accused me of cashing fake check even after manager corrected. I will never do my banking at BMO again.

This is not a nice bank if you're a little loud because of a hearing loss. Take your business elsewhere. Another Branch or a different bank all together would be my recommendation

This branch is an absolute gong show during non-business hours and is not safe for making large deposits or withdrawals when it’s closed. This morning, October 21st, 2023 I was accosted and threatened by two homeless men who were demanding change inside the lobby. When I told them I was here for to do banking the situation quickly deteriorated and I decided it wasn’t worth my life to withdrawal cash at this location. This isn’t the first time either, I’ve turned away from this location after hours three times in the last month due to large groups of homeless people doing drugs in the lobby. No one in their right mind is going to do business banking or any sort of withdrawals/deposits with this behind you.I will be changing my banking and looking for greener pastures after this. I also tried to secure a mortgage through this location last year and never received a call back, RBC was happy to take our money. The other banks downtown have security or it’s card access only, apparently this is too costly for BMO?I’d love to have the branch managers contact information over a cut and paste reply from a customer service team member.

I would select no stars if possible. They are not there to help you in any way. I made an appointment at the location on 1225 Douglas Street to see if my partner and I qualified for a mortgage. It was an unusual case as my partners stepfather wanted us to purchase half their house. Before going through the legal process to sort out all the detail I wanted to find out if it was even financially possible. We were looking into purchasing the place (if everything worked out) 6 months down the line as I had my money locked into a GIC and my father in-law had just renewed his mortgage for six months. The gentleman we met with stated we qualify for the $500,000 need to purchase half the house. He then proceeded to tell me I should pay the penalties and take my money out of the GIC, and my father in-law should pay the penalties and cancel his current mortgage so that I could get a mortgage with BMO in the next 2 weeks because it would save my father in-law a bunch of money. I then asked how much the maximum amount we qualified for was and he told me we did not need to know because what we needed to buy my father in-laws house. Needless to say, I did not want to go back there or deal with him as he in no way had my best interest at heart and is not someone I want representing me when I am trying to borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars. We did not purchase my father in-laws house but are looking to purchase our own place. I had to try to make another appointment to find out what we actually qualify for as the first individual wouldn't tell us. So, I tried to make another appointment at BMO but at 735 Goldstream Ave #101 location to avoid dealing with the first individual but she refused to make me an appointment. I do not have an account with you, but my partner does but she said because I did not, she couldn't make me an appointment. She would not listen to me nor explain to me how I was able to make the first appointment but am not able to this time.

Does anybody actually work at this bank? Every time I come here to make change, there's only ever a single teller.

All I needed to do was reset my online banking password. After having the run around on the phone I waited with 2 different bank tellers. After an hour of them trying to help me they told me to leave and call. Don’t waste your time with this bank. I’ll be closing my account as soon as possible.

Soooo slow, there are like no tellers. The atm wouldn’t let me get cash out so I spent 40 minutes waiting to see someone just to get money out. The ATMs won’t let you take your own money out if you have less than $100 in our account

I'm really reviewing BMO in general, but this branch in particular because of the experience I've had here.I use 3 of the major Canadian banks, and BMO has been hands-down the worst of them. I have a mortgage with BMO where NO ONE including the broker and the branch representative who opened the account offered us the option of the ReadiLine -- we only found out about it much later and would have to switch our mortgage entirely (meaning penalties etc.). Through the process of trying to put our home equity to use, we had 3 different appointments made at BMO branches (2 here, 1 in Vancouver) where the agent NO-SHOWED without any prior notice (we showed up at the branch and were told the agent had an emergency -- THREE times with different agents!!!). This is absolutely atrocious customer service and simply unacceptable for a financial institution as major as a national bank.In addition, BMO seems to not care at all about long-term relationships with clients. I've been banking with Scotia for YEARS and still contact the same advisor when needs come up -- and she responds within 24 hours every time. In contrast, when I tried to reach out to the BMO agent who opened our mortgage account, she had disappeared off the planet (no response to several emails, not reachable by phone). We tried reaching out to the broker as well, and he would DAYS to respond and in the end never directly addressed our questions.I will absolutely never recommend BMO to anyone, ever.

Very impressed with your Security Guard, Mat. He is very kind to elderly, disabled and everybody in general. Security wise excellent. Good communication skills, diligent and a good sense of humour.BMO is lucky to have this employee here. A good fit.

Great support and service. Inspite of our recent problems that have impacted the global financial world, they do very well and are quite helpful. This main branch is where I would recommend. Positive and friendly.

Went to this BMO while visiting Victoria for Christmas. I needed to deposit my rent money from myself and my roommate (we work in the service industry so typically have to deposit cash for a portion) and the bank wasn't open in my small town when I left, so I brought it with me. The teller was so rude and intrusive. He asked me so many questions like I was doing something wrong - it was only $1500. He asked me where I work, how many days it took to make that much, what was the most popular drink I sell. It was like an interrogation. I've never felt so uncomfortable at a bank. It was really violating, especially for such a small amount of money. Pretty grateful that I don't live there and hopefully never have to deal with him again.
